• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The wife sts has bout 2800 miles and has been running in great order . Today I get a call after she park and told me the oil symbol came on and the bike did not want to turn on , me thinking could it be low oil .

What type if oil should I get just in case it's low.
Sts may be due for oil, change almost hitting 3000 miles .
Gas this happen to any one .

When the engine is not running and the key is on the oil light will be and should be on because there is no oil pressure. This is normal and not a sign a problem. Need more details of "the bike did not want to turn on."
DO NOT ADD OIL.

:agree:

Either it's in gear or someone bumped the red kill switch on the right handlebar..... Just guessing.

I agree, do not add oil. Like all motors the oil light will be on, when the ignition is on, and will only go off after it starts. Sounds more like a battery, charging issue? Also remember checking the oil when the motor is cold will not give an accurate level, and you could end up over filling!

Have to agree..!!

We need more information. Assuming all starting proceedures have been followed what is happening when the starter button is pushed..?? Did the oil light come on while running..?? If the oil light came on with all the others and stayed on this is normal. Assuming it's a 2013 from join date the battery should be good so it goes back to starting proceedure..key on..kill switch off..foot on brake..in neutral..(will start with brake depressed while in gear) hit the starter...now what happens...?? :lecturef_smilie:

My '13 will only start in neutral. Hitting brake does nothing when in gear.

Then you have a problem take it to the dealer. Foot on brake when you push the start button will shift it to neutral automatically. I always shift to neutral before shutdown so it is less strain on the clutch system.
