• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Why?

No more, no less than what I expected to hear! Thank you all for your replies! Feel better already!:yes:

The reception of problems, in most cases, is exaggerated by the fact that we don't normally put up posts that say "had a another problem free day of riding", because if we did the board would look like spam. We post our problems, and most of us have an issue from time to time. That's true of almost anything this complex, and especially so when the numbers are counted in thousands and not hundreds of thousands (Spyder models vs. car models).

You can take the 2013 RT's off that list now. They fixed that heat problem and those machines are GREAT now. Mine has been super reliable. Wouldn't be afraid to go ANYWHERE on it (after I get my new knees. :D )
You mean your knees are not as reliable as your Spyder??:yikes:;)

The internet forums for virtually everything magnifies the problems beyond any measure of actual reality.

I have said this for a long time. Whether it is motorcycles or cars....these internet forums artificially magnify any issue. That is not to diminish those that are having problems.

+1 - I had a few problems over the first 4000 miles, or so - close to 22000, now with nothing but fun!

Trouble Free?

I've had quite a few trouble free days of riding.
Bought the Spyder used, had a few issues to fix but nothing expensive. I think I paid way too much, but that's on me. Rode to Nova Scotia from Ann Arbor, MI, no problems. Rode to St. Louis, no problems. Rode to Moonshine, no problems.

Major problem I've had is that it's not as easy to work on as my previous Hondas. Somebody has to keep the dealership amused and busy.:p

Should I post every day that I don't have a problem?

Like anything new, problems are sure to arrise. I bought my 08 gs, new, sure it had it's growing pains, but they are long ago GONE. Wish I could ride everyday, but in this part of the world NOT GUNNA HAPPEN. It is what it is. If for some reason it fails you , get it fixed and get over it or sell the DAMN THING. JMHO.
