I wave every time! It does not turn me off if they don't wave back. It's like saying thank you, it doesn't hurt!
Something I have noticed though is most the crotch rocket rider wave first or wave back! I would say 1 out of 10 Harley riders wave and the 1 out of 10 that do are older gents.
I have a tri-glide rider in my area that I see about once a week on the road. We always give each other a BIG wave! One day I have to meet the guy. He seems like he would be a cool gent! I know he rides a trike because he is missing one leg half way down. He seems very interested in my spider too.... Would be fun to try each others rides out
By the way another add. Now that I am much more aware of cyclists, when I am in my car I always pull to one side of my lane when I see a lane splitter coming up. They almost always wave when I do that including the Harley riders.
