There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Why Rise in Motorcycle Deaths Hasn't Meant Tougher Helmet Laws

Seriously not my intention. I really found it interesting and wanted to share. Should I just delete the discussion now?

Not at all. I think it was a very good article. It just starts the same arguments all over again. It's like politics, a country divided and nobody is going to convince the other side they are "right".

Carry on!

When you and OTHERS hit the dead horse, If you really want the Tread to end' Don't post anymore on those Threads and if everyone did that ' The Thread will fade away. I get a kick how after some hit the horse they continue to post and keep the Thread going.:dontknow:
Me thinks they don't want it to end. nojoke

you mean like you just did? :roflblack:

As i just posted for the FIRST time. It was a good article, that will just draw the same arguments from both sides. That, is :bdh:

I dont want to convince anyone that I am right, I just want them to get off my :cus: for my decisions.

even if they are wrong decisions? :roflblack: :joke:

That is correct, I reserve the right to make a wrong decision from your perspective. :joke::roflblack:

I have been making poor decisions in my Moms eyes for years, so I sure dont mind making a bad one from your eyes.

Sorry man! I am chilled, I was being a foolish boy as per the norm. I am never really upset or mad at another member. Again sorry if it came out that way, I was laughing to myself thinking about all the times I make my mom sigh and get mad :)

:gaah: This is almost starting to sound like "Deja Vue" all over again! :roflblack:
Bob, I think that would be Deja Vu. Don't you just love the grammar police.

I know you remember CSNY. Or did they come after your time?:roflblack:

Interesting...It was a mandatory pro helmet law piece but the stats were shot down in the questioning with political answers given to questions like correlational rise of deaths to number of motorcycles on road. Dodged answer and made point about cars increasing but getting safer (airbags, crash testing, etc-apples to oranges)
Only real point made was societal costs which have been argued to death (pun intended). There are ALWAYS rationalizations of societal costs. You could make a case for mandatory sunscreen. Lots more incidents of skin cancers vs motorcycle accidents. Skin cancers mostly in seniors covered by Medicare that society pays for.
We're back to the same beat the dead horse arguments..Do we protect personal freedoms over perceived personal safety issues. I can understand the thought process that this is a major safety issue which should trump personal freedom as some folks just don't know what's good for them. Problem with this though is that we keep setting more and more precedents eroding personal freedoms. It's much easier to simply say motorcycles are just too dangerous and support that easily with infinite statistics and ban them entirely. Those well intentioned folks will think that they saved our lives. If you suck all of the fun out of life--is life worth living?

np....i'm just here for the entertainment:thumbup: :yikes:

Time to go for a cruise without my helmet (:joke:) to see if I can see any gorgeous lady's sunbathing!

just another reason to wear a helmet with a sun shield. You can stare longer and in my case my old lady can't see me doing it!:roflblack::roflblack:

This could be an entire thread or two by itself....:roflblack:

I was going to write something right after my little jab at Bob. I come back to the thread and see this and it's pretty much some of the same stuff I was going to bring up.

I will add one more thing. Unless someone's head is split open there really is no way to know if a helmet would have saved a life or not. There is no way to recreate the same accident by someone wearing a helmet. And if there was I don't believe you would get many volunteers.

We live in America I always say let those that ride decide I always where a helmet that is my choice we all know you have you have a better chance of survivel rate if you have a brain bucket on I also think that the increase in motorcycle death are because more riders on the road when I first started riding back in the day there was a lot less bikers on the road
