• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Why does it have to be now?

Spent several hours taking Lamont's info about the ride on Friday to see where we were going with my mapping software. Printed out a bunch of maps as to where McMillian Farms, Lamont's etc is located.

Decide I want to out to eat tonight. So, I don't even get half a mile from my house and the Spyder goes into limp mode. :banghead: I've got FSS and DPS with engine check light coming on.
I pull over and turn off the bike. I walk away for a minute and come back. Crank it back up and it's still bad news. Why couldn't this happen last week?

Limp back home in first gear while the display is going wonkers! Flashing on and off, tach is going nuts.
Great, I'll have to wait till Tuesday to see if the dealer can do anything? Was to leave for TN on Wednesday to set up camp at McMillians.
I was planning to get an alignment on the truck before coming up to TN. That may have to
wait?

Guess I'll have to go to dinner in the dull truck. :(

I think Lawrenceville is normally open Mondays, but don't know about Labor Day. Maybe they'll be having a special Labor Day service sale!

Classic symptoms of low/bad battery, loose connects, or loose main relay. Check the relay first, then pull the body panels and check for a loose or corroded battery connection. You might also check the rear frame ground (negative jumper terminal under the seat. Charging tha battery may be necessary, a battery won't charge properly with loose terminals. Next time, pull up the fault codes. You will have a better clue that way.

I feel your pain... The Missus and I were gonna take Tink up along the eastern side of the Hudson River this morning when all of the Throttle position sensor alarms started going off at once...:gaah:
There's no limp Mode with them; you're coasting as soon as they start going off! We got it home, gave it a bath and put it to bed...
But she's been pouting WAY more than usual and I'm staying hidden... :yikes:

Teddy sent you a PM

:yes::clap::yes::::yes::clap:

Thanks for the suggestions and helpl!

Put on my Princton Tec Apex headlamp and rolled the BluSpyderByte out of it's cave.
I popped open the front fuse box and pushed on all the relays and fuses multiple times. Reassembled.
Lifted the seat and removed the left body panel. Using a wrench, checked all the battery terminals. They were tight. Put the side panel back on. Trickier with the new lower replacement panel from BRP.
Put in the key and started the bike. Everything was normal.:yes::yes: Goosed the throttle a couple of time and all was still good.

I'll take it for a test drive tomorrow in daylight.

Thanks again to everybody! WooHoo!

You might want to check the condition of the battery, just in case.

He's got a 2010. I wouldn't place a bet on the battery being played out this early, but it IS worth a peek. :agree:

Ron, I have 12.7 volts on the battery and it's a sealed unit. What else is there to check? :dontknow:

Being that a Spyder is a new learning experience for me, I'm still learning about it's workings.
