• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I voted for Dan because he's a great guy (very funny and a great host when we were in Montreal) and I HATE to see him not get any votes. It's just a lonely feeling to have a big zero even if he never sees it! ;)

Seriously - it's too hard to pick just one because the other Ambassadors all have such unique strengths and bring their own flair to the "job." I'm just grateful to call them all friends now.

(I do have to reply to one post that said I never leave town and my husband rides more than me. Them r fightin' words and flat out wrong:lecturef_smilie:.) No need for ill words among Spyder lovers, IMHO.

Probably gonna stir up some stuff here, but of the 5 people on the list, only one has provided his own spyder from the start that I know of. To me, an ambassador would be someone that does the job because of the true belief in the vehicle and the ride, not because they have been provided with rides and reimbursement from day 1. I would call the others employees of BRP. There are SO MANY others on this site that have contributed more than ambassadors ever will be able to, from the hardships of being without thier rides and still making payments while they were in the shops, to racking up many thousands of miles on thier own dime. And all of the time taking time to answer questions from potential spyder purchasers either at gas stops, events or just on a ride to the local grocery store. MANY members and spyder owners felt slighted by BRP's choices for ambassadors. Here is your new free spyder, now go and tell everyone how much fun it is to ride. Oh, make sure you all get some miles on it first. I know not everyone feels the same way I do, and that is ok. Gonna add a thanks to Lamont for being there from day 1 with his spyder and going thru the trials and tribulations right along with the rest of us. :2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:

Well, this is difficult. But, from what I have seen here at Spyderlovers, my faves are:

Lamont, for obvious reasons. He was a Spyder lover before he was an ambassador, and is devoted to his fellow Spyder lovers. He is a steadfast Spyder supporter, and a Spyder lover supporter, which can sometimes cause conflict for him, I think. We all adore Lamont. As for his ambassadorship, his style is practical and lowkey. I don't think he is entirely comfortable with making videos, but does it anyway for all of us. We could never express enough gratitude for all Lamont has done for the Spyder community, and neither could BRP.

Mickey was a excellent choice. He seems to have plenty of time to travel on the Spyder, is enthusiastic and, unlike Lamont, very comfortable with video. He does not have Lamont's great knowledge of the machine, but for the general populace, he is an excellent advertisement.

My only exposure to any ambassador has been here at Spyderlovers; I don't look at the blogs much at all. So I don't really know what everyone else is doing.

As for Faran, her selection was obvious - an attractive woman with no Spyder experience, showing the world that anyone can ride and enjoy one. I'm not saying that she has no other attributes, but I feel that was one big reason that she was selected. Smart on BRP's part. Her only drawback is that due to family obligations, her involvement is less than some folks expected. But they have to understand that Faran represents the world at large; the vast majority of us have obligations to family and jobs that do not allow us to just ride anywhere at any time. People appreciate seeing someone like themselves. So I do think she was a good choice, despite her limited opportunities to get away.

And I agree that we are all ambassadors, officially recognized or not.

Now, I must find a way to escalate my campaign to be the Hybrid ambassador... wonder of they would make a hybrid RT for me, as I already have an RS? :D

My vote goes to you (arntufun). Oh yea, you think Spyder's are pieces of :cus:! :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: Never mind. I retract my vote.....
