Whos highway foot rest are the best?

I see the ones NMN sells you have to drill and modify the bike....if i am correct

But the ones from KEWLMETAL bolt on......any one have them yet?

I don't think the NMN highway brackets require drilling of the Spyder, at least they didn't when I put them on mine and my wife's Spyder. It was suggested that you might want to put an additional hole to support the left bracket but I didn't and they still worked great. With their mounting point, there is some inherant flexing as the BRP sheet metal is very thin and lightly supported but these aren't steps, they are for resting your feet on while cruising down the road. I would say it comes down to where you would be comfortable resting your feet. The NMN footrests allow you to stretch your legs out farther than any other footrest that I've seen.

I have the kewlmetal footpegs and I really like them. There is no drilling and they are very sturdy. They look a bit like angle iron and welded- very sturdy. I seem to remember that they will support 250#'s. (Max was actually standing on them) The foot position is a bit closer to the body of the spyder which I liked not being spread so far. With the kurayukin pegs, you still have some adjustment forward and back and tilting. I give them a :2thumbs:

Here's the link to the install of the NMN (formerly Billet Bike Parts) highway peg brackets. I forgot that there is a bit of cutting involved in making a notch in a plastic pan to allow for the bolts that hold the brackets but that is very easy to do. And, as I said, that third hole in the left bracket is optional. Highway Pegs

From the NMN site in the installation instructions:

NOTE: These footrests are NOT made to sustain the rider’s full weight. You should NEVER stand on these units as this will cause the frame support to bend and/or break, resulting in damage to your Spyder and/or personal injury or death.​

I have the Kewlmetal ones and love them!!!! They mount directly to the engine mount and the bolt replacements that are needed come with the pegs.

i have nmn's they mount easy and no need for drilling, there is a little adjustment you need to make to the plastic cover on the bottom no big deal and they work great:thumbup::thumbup:

I am in the process of choosing a set myself. As I understand it from previous posts, Kewlmetal's are preferable if you have a short inseam, and NMN would be better if you have long legs and want your feet to the outside of the black wings. Kewls place your feet behind the black wings.

Our new adjustable desiged kit now allows people with any length inseam to use any of the 3 link kits we offer to be able to put there legs just where they want them. This was one of the major reason we came out with the new adjustable design with different length link kits. :yes::clap:


Our one kit will let you put the peg ether on the outside of the black plactic or on the inside if you choose. :thumbup:

Go to the home page of this site and click on the Kewlmetal site. Look for the highway pegs and click on that link. You will find pictures and also a picture of, I think, Max standing on the peg. :2thumbs:

I have them and I like them a lot. Very sturdy.

I made my own foot rests and can be seen on Can Am Spyder Forum under the tech talk. Look up " Forward Foot Pegs" back in May I think. Hope this helps. I know you can't stand on them but it helps with the cramping on the OEM pegs and long rides. I can brake using my heal as well.
