Your cruising down the road fat dumb and happy. Well fat anyway. Suddenly you notice the Spyder loosing speed. You crank the throttle, no response. Then you notice something else, no engine sound. Oh s*^t! WTFO? Quick thought, kill switch. Yep, restart good. No crash and burn, no ejection. I was pulling the sleeve down on my right arm, must have hit the kill switch with my left hand.

been there, done that! The wife likes to flip that switch when she gets on. Had some rather embarrassing moments until I remember. Now it's the first thing I check....glad it wasn't serious!

So I changed that switch to the passengers seat ejection

Kind of did that this summer, I was pulling up to a toll booth and in preparing to get the change that I had prepared, I let go of the throttle grip and then hit the kill switch as I was grabbing for the handle bar again.

I was confused for a second when the engine died but then realised what I had done.

I managed to flip the switch, hit the brake, press the starter, shift back into gear and hand out the change without holding up traffic behind me.

Did it in my truck going home on the freeway. You know how your not suppose to hang lots of keys with ignition key. It can screw up your ignition switch with all that weight. Well, I never got that memo. Key ring heavy, shut off my truck when I hit a bump doing 65, all the same symptoms...no more power steering, Veroom all gone.

Try accidentally hitting that kill switch at 4am in the middle of the pitch black country roads. Didn't realize what I did for 5 minutes while using my phone for a light to trouble shoot.

At least I put my helmet back on before I Gibbs slapped myself.

When I was working, we used to get calls all the time for machine (rider floor scrubber) quitting. The operators had those key rings that had 20 keys on them. The weight would pull the key switch to off.

I haven't done it while moving . . . but have bumped it a couple times at red lights as I stretch a bit during the delay . . . the first time, it was a major WHAT THE :cus:?? . . . but once I realized what I'd done, that first time, the feeling of being an idiot burned so deeply that, the next time it happened, I don't think anyone else even noticed. I simply stopped running . . . and started again, because I knew, immediately, that I'd been an idiot, again!

No need to go through all that. Just flip the switch and crack the throttle. At least that's all I've had to do the some 20 times I've done it going 70 mph in 2400 or so miles on my current trip!:banghead: And that's with the SE5. Of course I had to reset the cruise control! The kill switch is in the way of my arm when I reach to make adjustments on my GPS which is mounted above the right speaker.
