• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

who still owns/rides a bike?

Do you ride on less than 3 sometimes?

I like both very much but for differing reasons....

When my ol' back says I can I still love to take out my 2002 BMW R1150R. Of late I've been engaged on a Spyder acclimatization course so that I ride the Spyder instinctively. The Beemer fulfils 'the need for speed'!

Test rode one.

I still ride my 1985 Yamaha Maxim sportbike but the Spyder is what I take for long rides.

I remember test riding an 86' 700 maxim. Man, that was a quick bike. Quite a step up from an 81' suzuki 400 1 cylinder i started out with. Almost took the handlebars right out of my hands upon acceleration. Taught me to respect motorcycles.

I guess that I still have too much of the 2 wheel junkie in me. Bought the :spyder2:RT-S to replace my HD that a van totaled for me (luckly I had all the gear on so i just lost the bike) Still looking for a new HD, but I also own a 2009 Aprilia RSV and a 2005 Suzuki Bandit 1200s. Ride what makes you happy, not what someone tells you to.

I have finally ridden a Spyder and confirmed my worst fears it leaves me exhausted with my conditions. Building the leaning trike/quad is an attempt at my saving grace even if I build it and it makes me tired I'll be able to sell it and the Technology will be mine. Thats the upside. :gaah:

I'm in a different boat than most people. My wife was skeptical of 2 wheels, so I got the Spyder as a "gateway drug" last year. Now she checks craigslist every night for a good enough deal to hop on. We are taking the ABATE motorcycle beginners course together in August. We will be keeping he Spyder, but it will probably see a lot less use next year. I put 10k miles on it in under a year.

While we just got the Spyder recently and the wife has already told me to quit spending money on it, I do plan on buying something like a honda Shadow or similar in the next year or so.

We bought the spyder for touring, and because its bigger as well as cant be layed down.
My plan is that I expect she will take over the spyder at some point and I will end up riding the Shadow while we split the kids between us. Other times, Her and I will take trips on the Blue Bug. I like the lean, but feel safer on 3 wheels.

So I am not sure where this puts me in the results here, other than we will own both and I will ride both, but the Spyder is the touring machine.

I have the 2009 Spyder and I also have a 212 Victory Vision. I love them both, but the wife likes the Spyder best. She feels more comfortable on 3 wheels and having a bigger bike for people to see you better. She is scared of all the crazy drivers in the cars texting and not paying attention to the road. It is still fun for me to get on the two wheels on curvy roads and really lean into them. :)
