• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well that's just too cool for school! :2thumbs: I never knew that's where it was stored... :opps:
Thanks!

Your telling me, I knew Baja would be up there on the list, but I was shocked to see Big Red 1 listed near the top.

This is really cool to learn the history that is already being written on the Spyder.

Not too surprised to see George (BR1) up there. He is also a GL1800 forum member. That is another one of Lamont's boards and George, owning the GW trike and the Spyder RT makes sense. I lurk and read on the GL 1800 board but SpyderLovers is "home"!

CPTDENNY, TBB,Robeth, KYBLUE, IRHARRY (recently deceased) , Jerry Roebke , Wheels , punkindave, whiskerygoofy, blondies, WILLIAM, JOE CAT, Bohica are all GL1800 forum members. As is yours truly.

Lamont posted on the GL board about spyderlovers and looks like several signed up. More visited without signing up. I waited til I got my SPYDER to sign up.

NOT TO HIGH JACK, BUT HAS ANYONE FOUND A LESS EXPENSIVE WHEEL BEARING AND IF SO GIVE MAKE AND PART #'S PLEASE.....MIKE.........THANKS

I've checked into this extensively..... and didn't come up with good options... unless you're willing to buy 500 or more at a time. The smaller bearing I found I could get for less-- but had to order 500 or more -- and they would be NKG from China... ugh... but same thing as what we have.

The larger dual-row bearing is a problem. Similar bearings are used in air-conditioner units and on some Ford vehicles... but really can't find them cheaper.

Then you'd need to get the seals and O-ring too. These are pretty typical prices online:

293350055 $5.99 Canam - BALL BEARING (you need 2 of these)

293350065 $17.49 Canam - BEARING (you need 1 of these)

293200094 $4.99 Canam - SEAL (you need 2 of these)

293300124 $1.99 Canam - O-RING (you need 1 of these)

Considering you'll do this change maybe twice a year... maybe every 15,000 miles...... there's not a ton of money to be saved. I'd gladly pay MORE for a better bearing.
