There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Lamonster Review of the BRP Can-Am Spyder

That was a neat post - Spyder History. I noticed some of the forum members that replyed to your original post, I have not seen them around lately. I wonder where they are today?

Lamonster, great post of your travels from Tampa to your home in TN. I used the side streets to get used to the Spyder and since I hadn't riden a two wheeler in 32 years, it didn't take long for me to get used to it.
Since it was 63 degrees out Tuesday, my buddy Sam on his chopper and I took a ride down the coast. On the way back we stopped at a cafe for a drink and something to eat. This cafe is a local biker joint and since I was parked on a slight hill, I put the parking brake on. One of the biker's asked what that was? I told him its the kickstand. He said Oh! We go in and order a couple ruben sandwich's, grab our drinks and go outside to sit. The guy that asked what that was said, its a 3 wheeler what do you need a kickstand for? I laughed and told him its a parking brake. He said a parking brake? laughing he said, you had me going for a few minutes while his buddy's laughed. This other guy says, Who's scooter is this? Sam said that scooter as you refer to it, would give you a run for your money with 106 hp. Don't knock it, if you haven't tried it cause its an awesome machine. So I'm still getting knocked around by some of the Harley owner's but that's their problem. If it wasn't for the Spyder, I'd still be sitting on the sidelines instead of riding. I let Sam take it for a ride on Sunday and he came back all smiles, saying it's the best 3 wheeler he's ever riden and the next time you go to the dealer let me know, I gotta checkout that RT-S you've been telling me about.

Thanks Lamonster for bringing this to the top. Good to hear the Spyder Guru had the same thoughts and apprehensions as the rest of us. I think it took me more like 1500 miles before I completely relaxed the death grip however I only had a 50 mile trip home so most of my riding was short trips. I did not test ride it or watch the video, just bought it and within 1/2 mile was on the interstate hanging on for dear life.

Thanks for the write-up, great report :2thumbs:

My death grip relaxed way before 1500 miles except for the back roads we have here. I remember going on the interstate with my husband (he on his own bike), I too was holding on for dear life. Turned around, and went right back on the interstate. Got teased from my husband, I ended up going over 80 mph (did not realize the speed I was going), wasn't holding on for dear life anymore :roflblack:

The Spyder (with all the reported issues) is still the most innovative and fun to ride machine built anywhere in the world. Every time I roll on the power and everytime I round a sharp curve like on a rail it brings a smile to my face. The Spyder is not a perfect machine but it is perfection in it's own right. Guess I would have to say that I am truly a "SPYDER LOVER"

I've had my :spyder2:for over a year now, and I have to agree with what everyone said. It just keeps getting better and better!

This is really interesting post, it's always fun to see that even the spyder veterans were newbies like myself at one point.

I got my first bike at 15, a 1948 BSA, that I found at a barn sale. I kept it at a friends house as my parents would have murdered me. I gave up riding, not by choice in 1977 but, because of family and now that we have gone our seperate ways, I'm back into it because of the Spyder.

The freedom I felt in riding, never got out of my blood and now I feel like that 15 year old kid but, I'm not as crazy as I once was and being safe on the road is more important to me, than anything else. So enjoy the ride and be safe.;)

nice re-review Lamont keep up the good work. It is you i blame for having a spyder you made it sound so cool and so much fun. And it is so for that i thank you.:2thumbs::clap:

+1. I too can also thank Lamont for the push into :spyder2:world. He brought it up in the M109r forum and the rest is history!
