• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Which would you rather see?

Then start having discussions about the Spyder. But, that's not what you do here. You jab, whine, complain and bitch about BRP about things that have nothing to do with discussing the topic you've hijacked. I'm sorry you have a 2013 with heat problems, but that has nothing to do with how BRP advertising or who endorses their product. It has nothing to do with when BRP begins production of the 2014. Somewhere along the way you come to the conclusion that this is your only outlet to complain about BRP.

By the sounds of your post you've done a little research on my prior post to see I'm very happy with my 2012 RT. For your information, I have had issues with my 2012 RT and every single one of them I have solved by searching this forum and buying products here to fix my concerns. There are lots of suggestions and things 2013 owners have done to solve their heat issues. I believe the owner of this forum admitted he had heat issues with his 2013 ST. Instead of bashing the brand at every opportunity he went to work and found solutions.

So you keep plugging along and I'll just keep calling it the way I see it.
No never looked at any of your posts just know that the 12 was pretty much a more reliable and easier to solve the issues bike. If you had read some of mine you would see I have made and documented many changes and modifications that has solved some of the 13 issues including temp measurements before and after along with detailed pictures. I have made progress fixing what was obviously a manufacturing problem. I did not make the recall. How can I hijack my own thread? My point is are they placing more money on questionable promotions or are they planning any future additional measures? Last time I looked I was entitled to my opinions as you are but I never went to any of your threads and started swearing at you. Please enjoy your ride after a couple of more fixes I hope to do the same with mine.

Hey guys and gals,

Here is my opinion, take it for what is is worth.

Does BRP need someone to help sell their product? Of course.

Is Danica Patrick a good choice? I don't think so. I agree with the person that said they should have found someone who really drives a Spyder not some fake.

Could they have done worst? Oh ya. They could have signed someone like Miley Cyrus.

Does celebrity endorsement influence me to buy something? Nope, but there are a lot of mindless twerps out there that will buy one because a celebrity tells them it's cool.

Will the money spent on Danica take away from the money that BRP will use to look for a fix for the 2013's? That money comes from a different bucket.

Do I think BRP will fix the 2013's. I think that on some engines that there is a flaw caused by parts that came from different part manufacturers and the cost is too great for BRP to fix the problem. I think that you guys that have 2013's will have to fix your own problems and forget about BRP doing so. BRP will just wait you out.

Do I begrudge anyone who comes on here and constantly vents? No, I would be doing the same thing. If I bought a 2013 and had the problems some are having I would probably be worst than MagDave, and I would be trying to fix the problem myself like MagDave is doing.

Do you need to come on this thread and tell MagDave that he is whining? No, it's his thread. If you don't like what he is saying, go to another thread where everyone is on cloud 9 with their bike and the world is perfect.

Have a great day.

Brian :)

So if

You can't sell anything if nobody notices you. I think maybe city-data.com might be a better forum for you.

So if someone doesn't share your opinion then they should go to another site? Ever hear that the best advertising is "Word of Mouth". Maybe you should take a course in advertising to see how the average person can be tricked into buying something they don't need just because a sports figure type person drives a certain car, drinks a certain drink, or eats a certain food.

Thanks for the invite to go to another site but I'll stay here.

I really would like to see a solution to the 13 heat issues! If BRP does not come up with something to help us then as far as I'm concerned it don't matter who is on their web page advertising I won't buy the brand again, period!

I had no heat issues on my last ride . . . but it was 24 degrees, so . . . . :dontknow: Faceplate up.jpg

Very well said. :firstplace:

They probably work for people who can't thing for themselves, or they think that buying that product they become that endorser's close buddy. Look at me because I bought that product so and so sells. Buying a Buick because Shakil endorses it, or a certain brand of underwear because a basketball player endorses it? Soft minds buy int that stuff all the time.

And they do it at the voting booth also.

I don't have a problem with BRP using celebrity endorsements. It done all the time for all types of products. I think it is a good thing if the Can Am's are exposed to more people. The more people that buy them, the more apt the Spyder is to stay in production. We don't it to be exclusive that it bankrupts the company, because I absolutely love the Spyder. Having Danica Patrick as the spokesperson introduces Spyders to an entirely new demographic. If BRP is able to garner sales from the younger crowd, they know they will have customers for a ling time. By making the bike not come across as something only the middle aged crowd finds cool, they can gain a wider appeal. But the bottom line is, BRP is in the business of making money. That's not to say that one day they won't use real people for their advertising, but for right now as they are still establishing their market share, they want to get the most bang for their advertising buck. Now, I would hope that Danica actually starts riding a Spyder, but does Shaq really squeeze up into a Buick? Nope! Does the Roger Sterling character from Mad Men really drive a Lincoln? Well...who knows.... I don't believe most celebrities who do endorsements actually use, own, or love the products. They want to make money the same as the companies selling the products. It's all about marketing.

If he has the "right" to whine ALL the time, then in keeping with that thought, we have the "right" to complain about his complaining. Makes sense to me. Besides he has me on ignore so i am not bothering him, i don't have him on ignore because i hope one of these days he finds some peace in his life and i want to be able to see it.

I think this "rights" thing has gotten askew lately.

Just curious Magdave..

I was at the car dealership getting the wife's car oil changed and tires rotated and read an article about the Cmax and MPG ratings. Ford communicated with every owner about the mis stated Mpg's and gave them each $500. Yes they may be a bigger vehicle builder but I agree with your point. All 2013 owners should have been contacted with more than a recall letter and possibly confirming IF anything else is being looked at or if they felt the problem was solved. There have been so many reports from various sources here that says they are still looking at fixes I am not sure what to believe. The dealers(most of them anyway) do not know anything about if there is further action pending.

I AM a Danica fan and really hoped she would do better this year since I am also a NASCAR fan. It is good to have a big tent. Covering up the Spyder with her head shot was not what I expected to see. In the only interview I saw of her at the event she said she had never ridden anything besides a scooter (probably pit bikes). That does not inspire my confidence as a spokesperson. She makes millions from endorsements already more than she ever made driving. I am glad she can do that because there are people like me that will check out what she is showing. I have even gone to the GoDaddy's site and watched her and Jillian's videos as well as migrated my Corvette club's website to GoDaddy so in that sense it worked. If you would like to see the website I designed search Myrtle Beach Corvette club. I sold my Corvette to buy a Spyder so in that sense I have $25k invested in BRP I hope it turns out to be a wise one.

What in the Statement/request by Lamontster of "give it a rest, bro"....do you NOT understand? nojoke
