• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Which oil plugs are you useing to replace the factory one had someone tell me that you had to be careful because some did not fit right or something wasn't right with them. 2020 RTL. THANKS

The OEM part numbers for the crankcase and clutch cover, a.k.a. transmission plug, have not changed since the introduction of the 1330 ACE engine. Gold Plug and Dimple make aftermarket plugs that work although some folks claim the Dimple crankcase plugs break. I've had no problem with my Dimple plugs and have 71K miles and a good number of oil changes on them. The most common problem with the OEM crankcase plug when the new engine was introduced was that some folks did not verify the tool needed, a T45 Torx bit, used an Allen bit thereby stripping the Torx splines in the plug and making it a job to get the plug out. The clutch cover plug is a 6mm Allen.

Gold plugs. Torx and Allen-headed plugs were BRP's cruel trick on DYS owners. JMHO By the way, don't over tighten. I think 14/15 torque Lbs is recommended. Correct me if that's wrong.

Oil Sump Drain Plug torque = 21 lbft , +/- 1 lbft
Clutch Cover Drain Plug torque = 15 lbft, +/- 1 lbft
Oil Filter Cover torque = 18 lbft, +/- 2 lbft

Apparently Gold Plug has folded, the phone is disconnected and e-mails etc... go unanswered. Placed an order and funds were paid...crickets

I bought Dimples from drainplugmagnets.com; they're stainless w/ magnetic inserts and hex head, be prepared to pay ~ $64.00/set + shpg

C'mon people, the resurgence of all these oil change & drain plug threads is simply because Jane has (in every thread) kindly given us a heads up that apparently Gold Plugs has folded!! See post #5, quoted below....

So there is no further need to rehash the already finalised discussion in any of these threads - not unless you've got something new &/or helpful to add that hasn't already been covered, anyway!! :lecturef_smilie:

And No, there is no need to report these posts, it's not spam - well, not yet anyway! ;)
