There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Which Gas Would You Buy?

I run premium because non-ethanol of any kind is near impossible to find around here :banghead:

Which gas is better for the Spyder, non-ethanol 87 regular or premium 92 with stabilizer? Why?
Thanks, Fred

If you can get non-ethanol, then that is the way to go. With E10 fuel, you are taking at least a 10% hit in fuel economy. The issues with running ethanol through an engine is another hot topic of debate. Run pure gas and you won't have to worry about it.

I can't get ethanol free. I run premium because that's what the owner's manual says to do.

I'd have to check the sticker under the seat again, but I believe you are right. I believe it is 89 or 91. Luckily, in my area, there are multiple gas stations that sell 91 octane non-ethanol fuel which satisfies the octane requirement.

I've a 2008 which only requires 87, which I use. It's usually 10% ethanol. I get 32mpg. I've tried premium, as others have for their 2008/2009, and gas mileage remained the same for me.

This is a trick question:
Which bike do you have?
Any pre-2013 RS or GS can use 87 octane, and have a great time doing it!
Any RT, ST, and 2013 or later RS will need 91 octane to be happy.
The amount of ethanol doesn't matter; as long as it's 10% or less...
But ZERO percent is best!

I always put highest octane available in both my RT's. 90 octane and no ethanol BS is what is mostly available here. I do notice a less "peppy" performance if I have to go for a lower octane due to availability in the outback.

Premium all the way... though there are a few towns around here that don't have it... we picked up some motorcycle octane boost (probably just due to the size of the bottle) and keep it in the frunk just in case we have to fill on 87...

My 2012 RT Limited will run on 87 but, it runs enough better on 91 that my wife, as a passenger, can tell the difference. Also, the mileage is somewhat better. :D

I'm in a 'lake' town so we have both regular and premium in no-eth for the two strokes, but it's pricey, an extra .25 usually for the no-eth option. I've been paying that though for the two stroke seadoos and my old Alfa Spyder.

My work commute is 130 miles round trip and I usually take a bike year round, I guess I need to suck it up and buy the premium no eth. Downside is in winter we can only get the regular no-eth, not enough boaters to keep both pumps running in the off season.

YOur RT will run just fine on the 10% corn squeezin's...
But you'll get better fuel mileage on the straight stuff... premium gas in either case!

Gasoline..??

I run the high test because it has additives to help the engine, valves etc. A shot of seafoam every tank or two to help with the ethanol...:ohyea:
