• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where's your dream trip

the wife is retiring in june after 30 years of teaching. told her we'd take a cross country trip and we are headed out the first of july for 4 weeks. taking the southern route out west and the northern route back east. over the years we have been keeping a list of diners, drive-ins and dives recommended joints and we will hit as many of them as we can in the thirty days. i agree with dan, there's plenty of places to see here in the good old us of a, and we're gonna do just that.
You have friends in the Las Vegas area Chuck. Stop by!

AT AGE 67, MY DREAM TRIP IS EVERY DAY THAT I WAKE UP AND CAN STILL SUCK AIR, NOW THAT'S A TRIP....

The Lake Mead Recreational Area is a great ride from Overton NV to Hoover Dam with a side tip to Valley of Fire. Red Rock Canyon west of Las Vegas. The National Park pass is worth it for sure. Blue Ridge Parkway, Tail of the Dragon, Spearfish and Vanocker Canyon, the Badlands in SD, Devil's Tower in WY, so many roads.

I have to say that I am really looking forward to the ride to Tucson AZ in April . . . the Titan II Propellant Transfer Specialist Reunion will be there, and I'll be meeting a Spyder and a Victory in Tennessee for the trip. Others plan to meet us along the way! 2,200+ miles, one way - it will be the longest ride I've ever taken. Up to now, 1200 miles was my longest trip, in the 60's. I only stopped for gas, coffee, and sandwiches on that trip . . . couldn't feel my legs when I got to Mom and Dad's! I'll be hitting the Hampton Inn every 400 miles or so, on the ride in April!

At this point in time, my dream trip is any trip

In January 2012, I had a heart attack and triple by-pass surgery. Since then my overly protective wife has "pitched a fit" every time I talk about a riding trip. In the past, my trips have all been get out of our home area on the interstates and then hit the back roads without a specific plan. I usually have an outward destination and just ride the compass to get there. Coming home just more of the same. BTW, I will be 79 in February.

Tour Guide

You make it to Southern Utah and you will have a personal tour guide for most of the rides and I'll point you in the right direction for the others. You will need about 10 days to see the majority of the really good stuff.

Blue ridge parkway.....southern Utah....only one is to hard!:spyder:

You are another of the "beautiful destination" areas. Utah is one of my favorite states for "red" desert scenery. Zion, Cedar Breaks, Bryce Canyon, etc. etc. etc.

3 Month Trip

I would take three months off of work and hit every state in this great country of ours (short of Alaska and Hawaii for now). I would try to hit each State's most famous landmarks. This is my bucket list trip. I will check it off one day.

Have a safe ride. Keep us posted Deanna

I agree as some of my best trips were that way, but during the ride if a road looked interesting I often took that just to find out where it would take me.

Have you ever ridden a road so sweet when you stop you say to yourself, "I just have to do that again". Turned around and did a repeat ... ?

I can remember several rides with my son on the back (10 years old at the time) and we said to one another "AGAIN" ... LOL And just did it again.

Sometimes the turn around cost us hours of progress on our route but was so worth it. We would talk for hours about that trip ...

The twisties on steroids!!! Is there anything better? :2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:
