There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Where's your dream trip

You should check with Fred Rau. He does amazing New Zealand bike tours...

I am only 5 lucky numbers away from doing that

In 06 I looked into doing a 10 day tour (not with Fred) and with airfair it came to just under $18,000 so we rode to Alaska instead.

My dream would be to ride down my driveway and not come home until I'd ridden every back road, in every state of the U.S.A. We are blessed with tremendous beauty, all around this nation . . . and I'd love to see it all from my Spyder, before the dirt nap!

the wife is retiring in june after 30 years of teaching. told her we'd take a cross country trip and we are headed out the first of july for 4 weeks. taking the southern route out west and the northern route back east. over the years we have been keeping a list of diners, drive-ins and dives recommended joints and we will hit as many of them as we can in the thirty days. i agree with dan, there's plenty of places to see here in the good old us of a, and we're gonna do just that.

My current bucket list trip is to ride from Dallas, TX to Tampa, FL to go on the "Sunshine Skyway" bridge and ultimately head to Orlando and cruise around there. I have some great memories in that area.

It is no longer in the running, but a bucket list trip to New Zealand was once a choice we were considering. We were going to try to rent :spyder2:'s, but a motorhome would have been second place choice.

I am very lucky to live in one of those magic destinations (Alaska), and am looking forward to meeting the intrepid travelers who will be involved in the North to Alaska trip that is planned for the summer of 2015. It's actually less than 200 days away folks.:yes:

As far as riding in the lower 48, I love the National Parks and Monument areas of the West side of the Mississippi. Were I living in the lower 48, I would be burning up those roads on a regular basis.

Dream Trips

This is easy.

Wife and I are ryding to Branson on next Spring Break.

Then in July 2015, we are returning to Sturgis for the 75th Rally. Going by way of Air Force Academy, Rocky Mountain National Park, and return by way of IOWA.

however, in May 2015 i plan on mounting my SPYD3R and leaving my home in Easley, SC riding west thru GA, AL, MS, AR, TX, NM, AZ, CA, NV, UT, WY, ID, MT, ND, SD, IA, IL, KY, TN, NC and back home to SC... anyone have any good recommendations for

No need to plan it. Just stop when you feel like stopping. Ryde on people!

The very best biking can be had by waking up in the morning and figuring out where you are. Over breakfast plan which direction to head that day. Ride till about supper time and find a nice hotel and a great place to eat.

The next morning ... repeat.

I agree as some of my best trips were that way, but during the ride if a road looked interesting I often took that just to find out where it would take me.

PM me & I'll offer some suggestions. Looking at what you have scratched out, you're going to miss the best parts of the West, and see lots of high desert. The Redwoods on NorCal are unique, the coast from Eureka to the Sound is unbelievable, and N Idaho is memory heaven.

Might I suggest getting a Senior pass ($10, then free entry for all NPs) for the National Parks, and make a park tour? Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Redwoods NP, Crater Lake, Yellowstone, Glacier, Mt. Rushmore, and Rocky Mountain?

:agree:

One of the best investments I ever made.

I would drive west to New York( from Vermont) then go stop at Hershey PA see our sites in PA,
then head south to Tennessee ride Tail of the Dragon, Skyline Drive, Blue ridge park way, Smokey Mountains, and any other real twisty roads in Tennessee ( maybe in the Knoxville area)

then head to Kentucky, Lexington( Visit my cousin) stop, and eat, at any BBQ Places, sleep in hotels, Motels, and just enjoy the Sights of Good O USA. Then head back some where to the place where I live. Deanna

I'd start from my house in Maine on the Atlantic, take secondary roads across the northern states to the Pacific Northwest, down the Pacific Coast Highway and then head east across the southwestern states. Across the desert, both panhandles, then up through the Smokies and then through the Shenandoah Valley into West Virginia on the way back to the Southern Maine beaches.

Niagara Falls. Mt. Rushmore. Yellowstone. Yosemite. Puget Sound. Big Sur. The Grand Canyon. The Grand Tetons. The Ozarks. The Smokies. Pubs. Campgrounds. Five star hotels. All from my Spyder.

No need to plan it. Just stop when you feel like stopping. Ryde on people!
That's the kind of a trip I'd love to do in a motorhome ...with my Spyder trailered behind for side trips. I can see taking maybe three years or so to complete it. :ohyea:
