• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where's the Light-Level Sensor Located on the F3-T?

Does anyone know where the sensor that activates the night-time screen setting for the (2016) F3-T's dash is located? I'd like to try covering it so that the night-time setting stays in use all the time. Or would that be a bad idea for any reason?

Thanks!

Not sure...

but a swatch of black fabric slowly dragged across the screen will give you the location. Generally in the upper section. Once your over it the screen lighting will change....

I tried covering the sensor on my RT. It didn't work. Too much light still gets around my taped spot. I had to pretty much cover the entire tach and upper screen to get the night screen to stay on while in my sunny driveway.

Would think a software update so that this would be a preference to set would be pretty handy.

OK - I'll take that until someone knows about the F3's location. Where is it on the RT? (The F3 might be the same.)

Thanks.

about the 10 oclock position on the upper left part of display. I would experiment with a piece of painters tape, outside in sunlight (ofcourse).

another way to get the general idea is when you gauges "boot up" and needles sweep etc.
it's the only spot on the display that isn't carrying one idiot light or another,.

pretty easy to figure.

All right! Thank you very much.

Make it STAY in Night Mode

HELLO BRP.... are you listening? My guages are much more readable in night mode than the washed out day mode.... sure would be nice to include an option with all the others to say 'Day', 'Night', or 'Auto'....

Just my two cents worth....

Amen brother! The night mode is MUCH more readable.

I'm the OP of this thread and, in spite of the good advice given, I never got anything to work in keeping the night mode active. :(

Not sure on the F3’s but on the RT if you access the preference screen in the Cluster display menu there is a heading called Display I believe you can change the contrast of the screen not sure if this would be any better for you
