• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where to park your Spyder when out in public???

Had an incident in the New Orleans French Quarter at Christmas time. Parked Spyder in the "valet only" garage at a 5 star hotel in a spot reserved for security next to a security guards truck...can you guess what happened??!:yikes:

Spyder got run over, I was sorry that I had locked the steering . Cost my insurance $2000.00. :spyder: Wasn't worth my time to fight with the hotel(lot run by independant contractor). I let my ins. take the hit and tried to injoy my vacation.

Moral of the story...SH#T HAPPENS!

I will usually try and park away from the maddening rush - and walk in. If a space with a curb is available I grap it and I always park forward in the parking space so that the nose is visible - my biggest fear is someone not seeing the :f_spider: and running over it. I always back in so the nose is facing out. So far so good will be 1 yr with my :spyder2: next week.
good idea:clap:

I usually just park it in the closest handicap space if the sidewalk is not accessible. If none of those are available i leave the store and go somewhere else. Same as i would in the Cage. But i usually stay away from most Big box stores LOL

Rules #1 and #2 apply.
1: if you are on a motorcycle, everyone in a cage is trying to hit you.
2: they are good at it.:yikes:

"Park like you own the store", even if it's Home Depot or Wally World. The worst they can do is ask you to leave. Besides I've had great conversations with folks passing by.

Funny you should say this! I'm a season ticket holder to our local WHL hockey team, I brought the Spyder down for the 1st game and the guys there that run the parking lot werent sure where to put me, after the 1st game every other game I went too I would pull up and spot #1 would be coned off and the lot attendents would wave me over...my spot. Never drove the car/truck to a game since.

GO SILVERTIPS!!! :D

If your town is like my town every parking lot is on a hill. With that in mind do you absolutely, positively, trust the Spyder parking brake? I don't. I carry a block on a rope in my tank bag whenever I'm on a hill. Too tempting for little ones to step on every pedal. This won't protect you against runaway shopping carts or cage drivers but its one less thing to be worried about.

Maybe those offroad whips with a Spyder pendant is not a bad idea afterall.

Just leave it in gear.

I thank you guys for all the ideas, but I have put it to some thought and I think a bright orange exterior cover and some road flares is the way to go next time. I do like Lamonsters idea to park in front of the store like you own it, thats the way to go:2thumbs:.
