• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where is your Gremlin Bell located?

My brother put mine on the sway bar. Supposed to be put on by a friend, not the owner, on the lowest part of the bike possible. So far has worked. No gremlins after bell placed. Had one major oil leak before.

Does that mean Chuck has to come to my house???

I'm hoping to find a place for mine this weekend.

Another week and a half to get my real license :(

Thanks Virginia :banghead:

Gremlin Bell

Gremlin Bell 001.jpgFrank's Boards 026.jpgFirst I attached it under the Left side foot peg. When I got the Floorboards I moved it to the Lower Outside of the Left Floorboard. :doorag:

Bell

Okay, i was reading another post about the etiquette of removing your Gremlin Bell when trading in your motorcycle (to put on your new Spyder) and it got me to wondering where everybody has mounted their Gremlin Bells. I chose the little "hook" under the footbrake. Since the dealer shaved off a bit of the rubber stopper to stop my brake lights from staying on (known problem with the 2013 ST's), the brake pedal sits much higher than it did before, making it the ideal place to mount my Gremlin Bell. It can be seen, yet is not noticeable unless you are looking for it. I have attached a few pics of mine and would love to see some pics and/or feedback from others...

I had mine installed on the right upper A-arm, but last week I noticed it was gone. I guess the gremlins got it.

I just attached mine today, it's on the left side, on the handlebar near the grip. I am new at this so I didn't know the proper placement.

Until this thread I've never seen nor heard of "gremlin bell". Where'd this idea come from and how long ago? Sure didn't have it back in the 70's.

i'm assuming that you do not have one, as you had never heard of one, before this thread. if you would like one on your bike to keep the gremlins away, i'd be happy to send one out to you. you can't buy your own. you need a friend to give you one. it would be a pleasure to be your spyderlovers friend! just pm me with your address and contact info!

On the A frame.

Like some one posted above I have not received on as of yet but while looking to the hole thin about the bell I found this Written by Andy at Babe's Biker Form. Polishing the Bell, Washed my scoot today, Shined the chrome real well. A few miles of these desert roads makes her look like hell. Startin'at the front wheel work back toward the rear, and end the job with a tradition, My hart holds very dear. Mangin'from my left swingarm, Is a little plain brass bell. Not a shiny chrome one, like those rally venders sell. It's not there to scare away Some nasty "highway ghost". And it's not there for "good luck" Though I probably need that most. But on wash day when I finish up, And I'm polishing that bell, It's to honor and remember, Afriend who fell. It's hangin'from the swingarm, Not the peg or triple tree, So when I'm toolin'down the road, He's still ridin'therewith me. I think back to the road trips, And the good times that we had. And how we stood together, when **** got really bad. Some day we'll ride again, As time will surely tell, But till I make that final run, I'll be polishing the bell. " makes you think" ride hard and make the best of every day to the fullest. jtpollock
