• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where is everyone getting SE5 Oil Filter and Oil these days?

Hi all,
I’ve been a silent reader of this forum for a few years now and I have found many helpful answers here so I sincerely thank you all for that.

Thanks,
Mark
Love to see you Mark. We get booked out a few weeks as the riding season gets rolling, so I'd recommend calling to reserve a spot as soon as you know when you will be coming.

As for oil, 10W40 full synthetic will do you much better than the XPS blended (or any blended) oil. I'm not hating on XPS oil. But like all manufacturer labeled lubricants, you're getting an off the shelf product and paying too much for it. In this case, Castrol that you can get for much less at Walmart. We use Amsoil because it is a true synthetic, which is rare these days. But anything labeled 'Synthetic' will be much better than any blended oil. Your Spyder will thank you for it. Just be sure it is MA2 rated.

As for filters, both the HiFlo and K&N are excellent. HiFlo is a high quality paper medium. K&N uses a synthetic medium. Paper sounds cheap and inferior. But the right kind of paper works very well. As mentioned, doing your own service is always encouraged.

It is a shame that dealerships are doing this arbitrary 10 year 'No Workie' thing. But the older Spyders are not a problem.

Have a Great Riding Season!
