• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Where do you store your Cell phone??

Just purchased a new 2024 Spyder RT Limited. Love it so far but I have a concern about where you are supposed to store your cell phone.

I have already discovered that when storing it in the small compartment while it is plugged into the USB cable, my phone becomes extremely hot. I am concerned that this will be bad for the phone. I'm surprised that BRP designed storage for cell phones this way.

That being said, has anyone else found this problem and what have you done about it, or are you not concerned? Thanks

Just give me a call, I can help...

I put my phone in the trunk and connect with the USB cable. I ride with a Garmin XT for GPS. I can pair it with my phone and can control my music through the Garmin. I also use a Sena 20S on my helmet. I can make and receive calls through the Sena. Also, if I use the Sena for music, it cuts the sound from the Spyder and routes it through my helmet speakers. I can go either way depending on how much wind is hitting me. It really is a simple setup that works for me. I got a center position mount for the Garmin that works perfectly.

Sounds a lot like my setup, although I have my iPhone connected to the USB port in the top case and have a Sena 3S Plus headset installed inside my helmet.

Ram bar mount for navigation, however living in Florida it does get hot in the summer and it shuts down. only solution to that is cool it down in your pocket. I need to figure out how to cool it so I don't have to remove it from the cradle.

A couple of years ago I bought a wireless quick charge phone mount for my Beemer. It works well, except that when the ambient temperature is above 80 degrees or so, the phone overheats and gets into a state where it alternately charges and stops charging. At that point the only thing I could do to keep the phone from completely running out of battery was to turn off the charger and shut down the navigation or whatever else app I had running on the phone. This happened with two different premium Android phones, an LG v40 and a Samsung S22 Ultra.

So I bought a motorcycle GPS (a BMW Navigator V) and started carrying my phone in my pocket. Now that I have the Spyder RTL with a glove box, I tried carrying the S22 Ultra in the glove box. However, the phone is too long to fit in there with the USB cable plugged in. In fact, the phone in its case just barely fits.

Sometimes in the phone mount and sometimes in my belt phone pouch. When I am navigating with google maps, it is on the handlebar. Sometimes the Arizona heat will over-heat the phone. Phone gets USB power when in the mount via a USB cable for the outlet in the top case. Both of my 2018 Spyders are setup the same way. Drink holder, phone mount, Garmin mount, and dash cam.

I added a brace to the phone mount to decrease vibrations.

In the glovebox charging, wirelessly connected to INNOVV N1 Nav/Cam Carplay System.

Sooner or later the admins will approve the photo to my F3. "Better late than never!"

Send me a PM telling me what your problem is with posting that photo of your F3 & providing details of how you're trying... There's nothing that we are doing stopping it, so if you're trying to post it and it's not showing, it's gotta be something your end! :dontknow:

I have a RAM mount system on my bike. Here's what I have done for the cell phone.

In my LH jacket pocket. Whether on 2 wheels or three, if I part company with the bike, I’d rather my phone is on me should I need assistance.
