• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where do you store your Cell phone??

TackForm using the Center Mount Post that came with it from Motorcycle Dave.

I have been in 2 accidents and both times the tackform held the phone in place. I have been very happy with it.

I use the center mount from Motorcycle Dave as well. Keeps the phone secure and I can still keep it plugged in to stay fully charged. I don't have Car Play on my 2021 RT, and found the BRP system to be fairly useless, so I have a data blocker on the cable so that only the charging is taking place. I use Waze most often if I need a GPS navigation system to be operating. The screen on my 2021 RT is small (for my old eyes) so using the screen on my phone in the center of the handlebars is clearer for me to read while riding.

If newer RT's had a large screen, and if Car Play worked as easily as it does in my newest car where as soon as I start the car it connects wirelessly to my Iphone and shows Waze on the car's large screen, I would be tempted to trade in my current ride for that newer RT.

In my pocket, or handlebar mount, plugged into power. I don't do calls while riding, so it's only connected to power when on the bars.

My phone is on the holder to the left.

My headset auto answers my phone after 3 rings. However, when I see someone calling that I don't want to talk to, I just reach over and press the red end-call button.

I have a phone mount on the bars but keep my phone in my Hopnel tank bag 99% of the time. There is also a waterproof phone bag there for when the weather is wet.
like others have said, when I ride I mostly want to be away from the phone. I'll likely remove the phone mount soon for other reasons but that is for another thread.

tackform adventure center mount its wireless charging work great after a day of traveling no need to charge at night

I purchased the Carpuride from a member of this forum, so my phone stays on my hip in its holder. Love that Carpuride.

Good Question!! Mine is mounted on my handlebars with a ram mount and an X-grip. I have mine plugged into the USB in the glove box. I can either listen thru the helmets or thru the speakers. I have a Waterproof case for my Samsung.

Just recently, while riding to Southern Texas, I had my phone quit because of overheating. I use the phone for CarPlay while using Carpuride device for navigation. I started out with the phone in the front glovebox, but after getting into the hot afternoon temps, the phone quit. I placed it in the rear compartment, but it still quit because of the heat. Ambient temps were 100°+, and with the lids being black, they absorbed more of the Sun's heat. I ended up buying two cold bottles of drinks and placing the phone between them like a sandwich, which kept phone cool enough.

I have a 2018 Spyder RT. I have the power butterfly (what I call it) on my bike that connects to the four bolts of the steering column. I have more than enough power modules to power several accessories, and I run a power cable from that to my iPhone, which sits in a ram mount on the left handlebar. It is secure, I can see it when I need/want to, and it works great. Just pop it off when I get where I am going, &/or pop it on when I leave.

I do have a hard case for it. I pop it out of that to put it in the ram mount and put the hard case that I also use as my wallet for cards, etc. in the "tank" storage area, or I put in in one of the pouches on the dash. I have found that I like that system quite a bit.

I will say this. I ride with fingerless gloves so that I can control my phone, but I don't touch it much other than to check my TPS. I can usually safely use or touch my screen if I need to; BUT - I error on the side of safety. Things can happen fast at 70mph, and we all know the dangers of texting and fiddling with a phone while driving, especially riding. If I need to make a call, send a text, or listen to music, I ask Cardo or address Siri via the Cardo system of my helmet; so essentially, I am hands free and that all works great.

Hope you find what works for you. Above all, have fun and above that, be safe!

It is inside a vest pocket. I would like to have it close at hand when I call 911 to tell them there is some old guy laying in the ditch about 1,000 yards from where the two cars passing on a hill with double solid lines hit a Spyder.
