Not exactly an answer to your question, but I have a Drift Technologies X170. I mounted it on the dashboard so it gives a good steady picture. I posted a couple of videos that I took with it, but frankly, they are of poor quality because of my own incompetence.

I've posted a pic of my RT with the camera mounted and a still I captured from the video. It might give you an idea of where to mount your GoPro. I fabricated the mount so it can attach using double stick tape. That way, when I'm not using the camera, there is nothing permanently mounted to the bike.
One question, does the GoPro have a remote control, or do you have to press the buttons on the camera?
I can start and stop the Drift with a remote on/off.
