• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where did you get your "Handle"?

I have been a gun enthusiast for as long as I can remember View attachment 103383 as the years went by I enrolled in a Master gunsmith course, applied for my FFL and started repair work and building firearms. Friends called me DOC and then it became GunDoctor. It's my "preferred" nickname to be called by my friends

Spyder rider in training!!! Lol cool pic... so appropriate for this site too!!!

Interesting thread. Sorry to say, no cool story behind mine; its pretty self explanatory. I was going to change it but I couldnt figure out how without creating another account.

I've been Bruiser for many years. It's a variation on my last name and the fact that I seemed to get into quite a few dust ups in my younger days. I've had many 'handles' throughout the years. I only use Bruiser on here.

I just use the name my owners gave me.

...and as long as the NSA, FBI, CIA, Interpol, etc. browses this site, that's what I'm going with.
.

Highwayman was my CB handle since I was 18. The year is just when I signed up the second time after I lost my password.

"Woodbutcher" was my CB handle in the late '70's & early '80's when I travelled from TX to NY, then to CO & CA, then back to TX & onto NY again in my 1967 VW Microbus. Now, I'm just an oldguyinCT. :doorag::doorag:

PS: The wife was "The New York Bluebonnett".

Back in the day

In the times of CB radios my handle was "woolybugger" because I was FAT and had a long curly hair cut..... fast forward to early electronic communications I became "BigBearrt". Again because I was large and hairy........ that morphed into "UrsaMajor", Big Bear..... or as most of you know it.... Big Dipper........I added the zip code as needed to get the requisite number of digits on some site and it stuck.

Even though I am no longer fat or fuzzy, the name has history and is unusual enough to be useful. :ohyea:
