There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Where did you find out about the Spyder?

Went into a UJM dealer looking for a pair of gloves and saw a Spyder on the floor. Salesman told me about the Factory Demo Tour, gave me a phone number to register, and the rest is history. Oh, I did get a nice pair of Alpine Stars gloves as well.

I was on the internet comparing jet ski's in Jan 07. When I got to Sea Doo/BRP they had a "Y" icon. I click on that. Downloaded the online brochure. I bought the Sea Doo asked my sales person if they were going to become a dealer for the Spyder. He said yes and I started making my plans for a purchase. Circumstances pushed my purchase date back about 9 months. But I did get the :spyder2: it's red and matches my red RXT 215. Red is fastest on the road and the water!!!!

I was hanging around Union Square in SF at the bookstore looking at the motorcycle mags and picked up the CycleWorld from April 2007 and was instantly in love. I did my test ride on my birthday in September 2007 and put the deposit down on October 4, 2007. I would have done it sooner but I couldn't find a place to go see it in person and do the deposit until September. I did my first test ride at American Powersports in Rancho Cordova and purchased from Marina Boat Sales in Lodi. I would have bought it without the test ride, but I didn't want to pass up the chance to ride it. :)

I know a few folks who have purchased Spyders because of talking to me about mine. :D

I first heard about them when Lamont posted on the V8 board about them. Then one day I was watching a local TV morning news show and they had out in their parking lot a few Spyders with members of the demo team. Members of the show were riding them. They said they would be at the dealer in Lawrenceville, Ga giving test rides. So I went and rode one, was still undecided. They were on the way to Myrtle Beach to give test rides at The Spring Rally. Since I had plans to be there anyway, found out where they would be, and rode one again, this time for a longer ride. two weeks later I had a deposit on one.

Rode One

I have been looking at Trikes of different kinds for a couple years. I love my ST110 and been wondering how long I could hold it up. I tried Wing Trikes and VTX1300 trikes. Did not really like either one. I got on a high crowned road and almost lost the VTX because I could just hold the forks straight.

Then at Vintage days (Mid-Ohio)( 2008 ), I got a chance to demo one. A road trip of about 25 miles (escorted). Loved it at highway speed. I was concerned about low speed/parking lots. A Dealer let me demo at my own pace. I loved the low speed stering. I tried to talk to this Dealer, but he started acting like a twit and I left. I checked several dealers and one let me demo and I bought one March 13. I was gone for a week and half, but it still has 800 or so miles on it.

I was hoping for a little better fuel mileage, like everything else, but the so called windshield. Several members of the PGR that I ride with call it a 3 wheel Pocket Rocket. It does draw a lot interest. A guy at a gas station asked if he could take a photo of it.

As one person said, I have over a half Century of riding experience. Could that be put a diffent way ????

I learned about the Spyder last September from a buddy of mine I was visiting. I had not owned a bike since I wrecked my FZX (86) Aug 1st of 2002. I's taken my brother's Harley out about once a year since then and the butterflies from 02 were being replaced with an itch.

I researched the Spyder, stalking them over the web for a few months. Went to look at one close up in November, and finally test rode one four weeks ago.

I took delivery of my new in the crate 2008 Silver SM5 this very last Thursday.

I think I did all the right research, found the best deal, and have no regrets. :)

I was driving my company truck along the beach in Santa Barbara when I thought I saw a Campagna T-Rex but it looked wrong. Really wrong. I kept driving cuz I was busy and tried to to remember the name. Nope. I Googled "Can" and "motorcycle" but could not remember what the name was. A month or two later I ran into a couple demos at a Ventura motorcycle shop and the obession began...

So, after I got my new titanium knees, the doc sez " Yes, you can still ride, but don't drop any more bikes." I kissed my well-loved Suzuki good-bye and went to the Vancouver Motorcycle Show. And the she was, cute as a button, rock solid stance and Canadian as Saskatoon pie. I threw a leg over her. Ka-Ching! Sold!

May of 2007, I agreed to let my wife upgrade her 150cc scooter to a 400cc Yamaha or Honda scooter. While at a powersports dealership, we saw a poster of the Spyder. I thought it was kind of cool but didn't really have any intention of buying one. I joked with her saying that if I bought anything, it would be the Spyder. When we got home we tried to do a little research on the Spyder as we were curious but, anyone who remembers that time, Spyders weren't out yet and info was kind of hard to come by. They stayed in the back of my mind for the next month while we continued to shop for my wife's scooter upgrade. June of 2007, I found a BRP demo ride at the same dealer during 4th of July week. We went and were very underwhelmed (by the dealer, not the Spyder) and figured owning a Spyder just wasn't meant to be. Their sales pitch (or lack of one) and complete lack of knowledge turned me off of the idea of owning a Spyder.

Late July 2007, we found that the dealer where my wife originally bought her 150cc scooter was also going to be a Spyder dealer and they were having a demo ride in August. The service manager basically sold me on a Spyder with all the great technical info he knew about them. I put my $1000 down and signed up for the demo ride that day. While waiting for the demo ride, I had slowly started convincing my wife that she would be better off with a Spyder than with a bigger scooter. By the time of the demo ride, she basically agreed with me and that day or shortly after, she put $1000 down on her Spyder.

Being we weren't in the first group of buyers, we had to wait until March of 2008 to get our Spyders. Somehow, she got her silver one three weeks before I got my yellow one.

:D

Now, with thousands of $$$ in mods, great rides and two relatively trouble-free Spyders, we are very happy with our decision.

A couple of years ago while somewhat bored on an airline, I started thumbing through one of the flight magazines in the seat pouch. Lo and behold, there was one of the sexiest machines I had ever seen.

When I found my new love...

I had just gotten back from Iraq around June or July of 2006. I was reading The Army Times and in the back of the paper they had a 2 page write up with pictures of the Spyder. I remember telling my wyfe at that point that I was going to buy one, one of these days...

She told me that I was just wishful thinking since, because of wounds I got "over there" I probably wouldnt ever be able to ryde a motorcycle ever again. I suufered severe nerve damage to my left leg and holding up a motorcycle and especially shifting one was a huge problem. I tried on several occassions to ryde my friends motorcycles but that always ended in disasterous results. April 20th 2008, 3days before my 45th birthday I went to Motion Powersports here in Benton Arkansas and purchased a 2009 red, automatic spyder with the custom 6 spoke wheels. My wyfe wants to know if I am ever coming home! I cant tell you how much I enjoy ryding my Spyder and all the conversation that goes with owning one. I have wanted to ryde with The Patriot Guard ever since I got home from Iraq and now I can. I aint gonna lie, I shed a tear when I rode off the lot on my new Spyder. I found a way to ryde again and BRP has given me that new freedom!!
Thanks BRP and Motion Powersports for getting me back out on the road again!

it's like QUACKERZ said. We where at the stealer(dealer) buying my V-strom when we spied this crazy looking thing on the show room.

Liked it, Signed up for a test ride, Test rode it, Loved it.:2thumbs:

I saw a photo and quick write-up in Popular Science about 4 years ago - filed the information away in my brain for a rainy day. Rainy day came once and decided to google that 'strange bike' from the Popular Science - but couldn't remember the name of it (so much for my internal storage system).

Finally found it online - read more and thought they were really cool. Joined a mailing list for when they might have a demo near me.

Months went by and I quite frankly forgot all about it - then one day in my email I find a message saying they are having a Demo Day about 45 minutes away from me - in about 3 months. I signed up thinking maybe I would go - maybe I wouldn't.

Went about my life and then got a reminder email about a week ahead of the demo - then decided - yeah - I gotta go see one of these. The demo ride was in the spring of 2007 - May or June - something like that.

Called a buddy and asked if he wanted to check these out - told him he probably couldn't ride one because he wasn't special and I had signed up and that the whole demo was really on MY behalf - :D.

We both took a spin - and had a blast for a good 1/2 hour ride. He had to run to another appointment - I said I needed to go speak to a salesperson. He was like 'are you going to buy one' - I said - *maybe* - and I knew damn well I was gonna.

Put my $2,000 deposit down - and then had to wait until March of 2008 to get my PE Spyder - never looked back.

My buddy likes them - but is too into his Big Dog Ultra Classic to switch to something else right now. We go out riding (well - we did until his BD crapped out on him a few times).

That was 7,000 miles ago for me!
