• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

When To Replace Belt tensioner/Vibration Damper/Idler Pulley?

I don't recall the mileage on mine but I would reach up under there every time I put it to bed after a ride and check it. I felt the roller wiggle a little indicating the bearings were starting to get slack. And the belt was beginning to get very light scuff marks on the top of it that I could feel with my fingers. At that point, I zip tied the idler up and away off the belt and haven't touched it since. That was less than a year's use. I don't have that much vibration and I don't think they are worth the aggravation they can cause when they go south. Adjust your belt so it doesn't vibrate at your cruise speed. A destroyed belt and idler can run $500+ depending on where you are when they come apart.

Looks like BRP calls it an "Idler Pulley" or am I reading this wrong? Whatever it is, we all know what we're writing about. LOL

Thanks all for the feedback and Mikey, your suggestion about feeling of the roller every now and then makes a lot of sense to me.

The number you show may not be current, it may have been updated and secondly you do not need the whole kit just the repair kit which I saw somewhere on the Can Am site, but can't find right now, it's about 1/2 the price!?

Lamonster sells a roller for about $58 I think, but not 100% sure it will fit on the one that came with the bike. Does anyone know?
His complete kit is $139. If I have to take the OE one off to exchange the roller, I think I'd just put a new one one.

Edited: Just looked at another vendor whose video shows taking off a slew of panels on the 20-up models to include the floorboard.
That's more work than I am capable of. . Have any of you had those panels off and if so, how bad were they?

Years ago, Lamonster advertised their roller as a replacement for the OEM roller. I installed one on my 2019 F3S without issues. I did recently purchase the complete kit from Lamonster for my 2022 RT S2S but have yet to install it.

If you don't need it, I would leave it in the spare parts draw! Why add something more that you have to watch? Ride more, worry less!

You need to remove all the tupperware on the left side.
- Shiney black
- lower painted
- forward painted
- passenger step
- floorboard (easier to remove/replace the next piece)
- THE BIG BLACK PANEL (not horrible but tedious. go easy)
