There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. When did your Spyder "loosen-up"?

For it's first 10,000 miles or so; my Spyder averaged 39.3 mpg.
After the trip to Missouri at the end of April, I noticed that it was getting noticeably better fuel mileage.
Since I hit 13,000 miles: it's been averaging 41.6 mpg.
When did you guys notice that things had loosened-up, and your bike was ready to start running the way that you knew it could? :dontknow:

LOOSE SPYDER

After about 8,001 miles ................ but I drive it harder :yikes: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: ....... Mike :2excited:

Just turned 10,000 on the 1330 - got three tankfuls at 41 plus MPG

I was thinking that it finally was "broke in". Either that or it always 'seems' to run better after a fresh oil change;)

Maybe you blew the 'carbon' out on your trip to Spyderfest?

:joke: Every now and then you need to open her up a little?:joke::joke:

at 2500 miles and new oil it seems to shift up and down quieter. never been
less than 38 mpg since i got it and mostly 2 up. never rode w/o a helmet till
last night. noisier than anything else ive ever had.

MPG Figuration Method

What method are you using to figure mileage? I've got a 2015 Rt with a little over 1,500 mi, and I'm getting 30-31 mpg. The display reads something higher but I don't get anywhere near that number when I top off the tank and divide miles by gallons. Perhaps this is because; its still breaking in, my computing method is faulty, or its my driving style...

I don't remember exact mileage for the engine getting more loose. The 998 gets 31 or so and the 1330 gets 39 or so. Both now have 23,000 miles plus on the odometer.

This summer, we have not gone on any longer trips. I can do between 70 and 100 miles and I have to get off. Hopefully, that will be fixed by next riding season.

Don't know. ..!!

I never paid attention to mpg's till I came here and saw how worried everyone was...:yikes: performance wise..as I made mods to the electical and air systems. The handling for the same reason. I always ryde my vehicles the way I will ryde them from day one. Then having had many vehicles getting only 8 to 10 miles to the gallon 31 avg is just awesome.. sooo gotta bow out of this one with "I don't really know"...

old math. they used to call it division back in the 50's and 60's.--irv

When the the gas gauge goes down, I stop for gas. From the looks of things, I need to do a better job planning my trips so that they are all downhill and the wind to my back.

If you keep going down
sooner or later you will reach the south pole
then you have nowhere to go but up :roflblack::roflblack:

And then you hit a headwind and get run when you only get 32 MPG..

I know its hard to get an accurate MPG on one tank, and this weekend we had a run of 160 miles mostly into the wind at 70 mph..... result - took 5 gals after the 160 mile run.. Speed and air resistance does take its toll on energy required...but Premium gas was cheap in Oklahoma:)

My F3's--did my 1st oil change at 2200 mi, I will say the F3's has ran better with more miles on it, Initially it shifted slow--long delay--30 mpg. Now it shifts much quicker and I'm guessing mpg is 33-34 mpg. I haven't been on a long trip but I believe 40 mpg would be possible if I stayed below 75 mph on the freeway. 1st 500-1000 miles were the worst. 1330 likes to run loose.

RE: Gas Mileage

zero one of the trip meters each time you refill the gas tank. Use that number and divide by the number of gallons the pump says. I also fill to the same level each time...that keeps things a little more accurate...but it is still not perfect.

I also do not worry about decimal places beyond the first. 4.8689 gallons will be 4.9. MPG numbers (38.64338--will be 38.6).

Those five decimal places give the impression of more accuracy than is really there.

I've got 13,400 miles on my 2015 RTS and it's getting around 35 mpg. I've wanted to ask ya'll what rpm is where you try to keep it at? I try to keep it at 3000 rpm and rarely goose it above 4000 rpm (hard to hold onto her above that, it really wants to roll me off the back end:yikes:). It really pulls hard from 3000 rpm. However, I do often find it above 4000 rpm when I've forgotten to shift up (damn that C.R.S.!).

Revalden, I got 40 mpg day one on my first tank. I've also gotten a couple of 32 mpg tanks since then. Those were mostly 70 mph on the freeway running against a head wind. Many conditions effect mpg but I bounce around in the high 30's and low low 40's. I shift between 2.5k and 3k rpm most of the time and hover around 3k when in 6th gear. Pressing the corners in twisties and running high rpm's will suck gas like it's going out of style. My days of riding hot are behind me now so my equipment and gas last longer these days. However, when my warrantee is up, I'm going to get a ecu flash 2. Why? Just because I can! I've shifted at 7k a few times and it's fun bit it is also scary.
