• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What's the criteria for when you have to wait for the computer?

I've got a little more than 1,000 miles on my 2013 spyder ST-Limited now and I cannot quite figure out what makes the spyder decide when you have to wait for the computer and when you don't. Obviously you have to wait and see the warning message the 1st time after sitting for an extended period of time but then when stopping after riding a while it'll start right back up. Is there a X amount of time or is it based off of the warmth of the engine? Just curious if anyone has cracked the code :roflblack:

:roflblack:

It's a certain length of time, my dealer told me when I got mine but since my short term memory sucks can't remember, I'll remember next year :D

I think it's one of those random things that BRP engineers sit around on Friday afternoons and just laugh about.

I am thinking about 3 to 5 minutes. Example: fill up at gas station. Reset trip meter, shut motor off, fill tank. If you are within the time limit, the dash display will light up without having to activate the mode button. If you go over the time limit, you need to go through the boot up, mode button procedure.

Don't know..!!

it seems like it changes. I wonder if there is a set time like 1-15 min. Can it be relative to engine temp the hotter the more or less time....:dontknow:

DAM!!!

Had to get the book out and actually read:gaah:

and the official answer is any time the switch is shut off for more then 5 minutes it will revert back and you have to hit the mode button to by-pass the safety screen.

It also prevents Spyders being used as a get away vehicles and the bad press that would follow.

I thought they were advertising them as escape vehicles from the paparazzi. Wonder how many stupid questions the reporters could ask before the warning display pops up
