• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What's Letter E in gear shifter indicator telling me?

Out for a ride today and while shifting gears up the letter E appeared where the gear # should have been shown. Stayed on for awhile until I geared down and never came back. Anyone ever experience that ? Like to know the cause. 2014 spyder RT Ltd se6

Thanks .

Yes. My 2014 RT did that a couple of times. The "E" means error. Like you, I played around with it and it went away. Twice it happened to me while I was refueling at the gas station. Guessing some kind of glitch with my shutdown or startup. Never found out the cause.

Yes. Saw same thing several times my last ride. Mostly while downshifting (SM6). Have been being a little more deliberate with my shifting, and have noticed the “E” pop up mostly while shifting slowly. “I believe” it is just indicating that it is not in a correct gear, as if between gears.

Think *my* problem is probably more fluid-related. It’s a “new” ‘17 model, and I haven’t changed the clutch/brake fluids yet. Doubt they’ve ever been changed.

I saw it quite a few times on my 08 GS which was a manual ..... good luck ....Mike

My 2014 RTL did that a couple times over the course of 3 years. Never paid much attention or concern. I just thought the computer was confused about what I was doing.....:dontknow:

I saw the big E several times when I was first learning my Spyder and, for me, it was because I had pressed the +,Upshift, lever and held it a bit too long instead of a smooth press and release, but that was about 77K miles ago.

Thanks all for your info. That’s what I thought - it was something small so I wouldn't loose any sleep over it. thanks.
