• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This is me in 1979 taking a vacation on the island of Corsica in the Med, the birthplace of Napoleon.

The bike is a BMW R100T. The fairing I have fitted is a British made Pantera, the design for which was copied from the Windjammer III, made in the USA, which was the fairing to have at that time if you were serious about touring big distances. I kept this bike for years, until BMW introduced the R1100RT which was my idea of a complete tourer straight off the factory floor. :)[/QUOTE]

What i was riding 40 years ago?

Me too. Blue (almost purple) color and the banana seat was vinyl/glitter. Had a "slick" for a back tire. That was a wheelie machine !!!!

Hard to re call for sure but I remembered it being much darker blue than this photo i googled! And mine had STP oil stickers all over it!

Your memory may well be correct. The Pantera company consisted of a couple of guys in a rented shed who had this great idea to make copies of anything in GRP that was looked upon by the British motorcycling fraternity as being good kit.

Buying an imported Windjammer III was beyond the means of most Brit bikers in those days so a Pantera copy was the next best thing. The Pantera's were strong and well made and sold for a little more than half the cost of a genuine Windjammer. One feature of the Pantera that was much appreciated was being able to take it with you when you changed your bike. Here it is on a Kawasaki Z650 which I had immediately before I bought the BeeEmm R100T. You simply bought a mounting frame from Pantera for the new model of machine you were purchasing and that was it! Outstandingly flexible. :2thumbs:
