• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What were you driving 40 years ago (1971)

A Schwinn bicycle.

Mine waste green & had an awesome banana seat & two speeds. Loved that bike. Was the first in my neighborhood to ride my bike down the slide at the local grade school.

May have bought my first 10-speed around that time too.

Me too. Blue (almost purple) color and the banana seat was vinyl/glitter. Had a "slick" for a back tire. That was a wheelie machine !!!!

Hard to re call for sure but I remembered it being much darker blue than this photo i googled! And mine had STP oil stickers all over it!

In 1971, a 1970 Honda CB750, a present to myself after returning from Viet Nam, in the 60's a BSA 500cc single, in the 50's a Cushman scooter (while in Japan) and a BSA 650 twin (when back in the states) and in the 40's, a scooter, a Salsbury I think...something like that. A 5hp washing machine engine and a metal plate that rubbed the rear wheel for a brake. Stopping at 30mph (top speed) took 1/4 mile...wild days. I had a buddy who had a Harley 45 or 61 cc. I rode it a time or two and thought heaven is here.

:spyder2:

WOW Bultaco Matador

I had a 68 Bultaco Matador 250  and a 71 Sherpa T 250  and a 350 Honda Scrambler. Tried to ride trials events almost every weekend until I had to spent 6 monts in a hip high cast for doing wheelies on the Matador in the back yard. Caught the close line with the front fender and couldn't recover from it :sour:. Broke my ankle and the doctor though he could keep off motorcycles. Boy did i fool him :banghead:. Leg fit really nice on the handle bars. No problem riding around back yard until you had to stop. Then that tested your talents:opps:.

I think I was still on the Honda 90. I know shortly after I sold it I purchased the Honda 350. The 90 was ok for around the base and town and fun on the forest service roads in the Lincoln National Forest. The 350 was a good highway bike but not offroad, plugs kept fouling. Then I got the 175 Trials:yikes: Back to the question, it was probably the Honda 90. Oh, and a '61 Belair with no rear floor.

Can't quite get all the way back to 1971. We didn't start to ride until '74.

Here is my 1974 Honda CB 360T. I wasn't excited about the stock color so I had Carlini (located in Detroit) do a custom paint job on it.

A lot of money to plow into a small Honda Twin but there were no others like it on the road.

In '71 I traded my '65 Honda 450 for a '61(1 kick) Hd Sportster. If it didn't start on the first kick, which it usually did, you could figure on jumping on the pedal 9 more times before it wuld start. It had a "cruiser w/shld, white fiberglass bags, white banana seat and dual exhausts. I had it painted '68 Ford Metallic Blue. From behind it looked like a "baby HD 74"
I loved that bike!
