There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What Type of Rider Are You?

I was all set to order the Corbin fairing and saddlebags because I feel they did a great job with them. But then I realized I'm not that kind of rider. I don't do a lot of long commutes.

I had the same revelation before I ordered Ken's awesome performance enhancements. I'm not that kind of rider either. The Spyder is a tweener bike, and while fast, will never compete with the Hyabusas of the world.

I'll stick with my LEDs, Kury pegs and grips, and my sexy Micron. Attention wh0re - I'm that kind of rider. :doorag:

Smart thinking. Seems easy to get caught up in the addiction, and put on everything that is good-looking, and available. I have thought much the same about the Corbin bags. While my wife and I want to do some touring, and bags are a necessity for that, she will never have the need for permanent hard bags, like I do on my BMW. She mostly travels around near here. The bags are pretty, but the Spyder is not as visually striking with them, IMO. Prefer something we can toss on to travel, and remove to show off.

That Corbin fairing is just too fugly.. and probably $$$$$$.

The saddlebags look INCREDIBLE !

But I would never use them as I don't stray far from home. Some soft bags for extended weekends is just fine.

As far as the performance stuff.... I'm all over that!

I did the Hindle for a few reasons:

1. It looks 1000% better.
2. It sounds 1000% better.
3. The Rotax runs cooler with it - thus it is better for it.

I also got Ken's O2 mod and filter.

I'll be getting his fan mod when available and maybe the Penske shocks.

I want things that:
A. Look good.
B. Perform better.

Does anybody have those Penske shocks on? I'm tempted but it's a steep price for not having any commentary on how much of an improvement they are.

I have the hindle, o2 mod/filter, and it's a better machine for them.

PS. If you have the hindle, do NOT get the air filter without the O2 mod. I ran it like this for a while and it ran terribly. It's been as smooth as silk since I put the o2 mod on.

Now on those bags, I feel they really add to the looks of the Spyder. to do so they must be in color (RED), not the black. I never have been a big fan of the bikini thong look on women or bikes, some things should just be covered up a bit more!

Of course this is from an old sailor who has viewed tail ends all over the Pacific, Indian Ocean, Atlantic, and the Mediterranean! In addition to this I have watched many a small family on motor trikes overloaded with goods for the local marketplace. You must understand that I have spent my last eleven riding years on a Honda/Acura Pacific Coast with full body work and a TRUNK (the Acura part). I was proud of the ability to carry home a week's worth of groceries and even loaded thirteen two liter soda bottles in the trunk one sale day.

If, like some sport/touring bikes, the bags would come off quickly and cleanly it would be a plus for those river road twisties. Of course, unlike the bikes, keeping the width down is NOT an issue with the Spyder!

Skunkmanitu. I am with you 100%. I think the bags fill in the open space beautifully on the Spyder. AND they hold a lot too. Stylish and practical. BUT we all have different tastes and that is what makes this such a great club!
I for one will be getting the bags - Silver on my Silver Spyder

I just can't bring myself to putting lots of stuff on the :spyder:. I thought so at first but I like it the way it is - cept for a few gadgets but no bags or anything for me. I was gonna do a tank bag but nah - trunk holds enough. We ride alot but I've learned to get rid of alot of unnecessary junk. Invested in a good warm jacket, a decent mesh one and some portable raingear. I'm good to go. All I need.

I haven't got my Spyder , yet. June 20 ought to be the day. Basically, if a mod gives mew a skid mark, it is worth it.
