What tire pressure for original 2012 RT tires?

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME THE TIRE PRESSURE THAT A 2012 RT IS SUPPOSE TO HAVE .I HAVE ORIGINAL PARTS ON MY BIKE...IM GETTING PEOPLE TELLING ME DIFFERENT THINGS,AND WHEN I BROUGHT MY BIKE IN TO GET OIL CHANGED THE PEOPLE AT THE SHOP THAT SERVICES CAM AM PRODUCTS CHANGED THE TIRE PRESSURE....I KNOW EVERYONE HAS DIFFERENT PRESSURES THEY LIKE BUT I WOULD LIKE TO START OUT FACTORY AGAIN AND GO FROM THERE..THANKS AHEAD FOR EVERYONE FOR THERE COMMENTS !!!!

I have run 15# in the fronts and 28# in the rear tires on all my :ani29:'s. 2008-2011. They changed tire sizes on the 13's so I am not familiar with the new specs.

I recommend 18-20 psi in the front and 28-32 in the rear (depending on loading and riding style).

In my opinion, the factory recommended pressures are too low. Gives a softer ride but you give up everything else and the ride is still fine with higher tire pressures.

But you're right, you're going to get all kinds of different advise.

FRONT -
Nominal 103 kPa (15 PSI) - Minimum 89 kPa (13 PSI) - Maximum 117 kPa (17 PSI)
REAR -
Nominal 193 kPa (28 PSI) - Minimum 179 kPa (26 PSI) - Maximum 207 kPa (30 PSI)
NOTE:
The pressure difference between the left and right side tire should not exceed 3.4 kPa (.5 PSI).

OK MY NEXT QUESTION RON IS ......
IF I HAD THE TIRE PRESSURE U QUOTED 18- 20 IN FRONT AND 28-32 IN THE REAR TIRE ..HOW MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE WOULD I TELL IN THE RIDE WITH YOUR BAJA RON SWAY BAR..I WAS THINKING HOW MUCH HARDER STEEL IS THAT NEW BAR THAN THE 2012 BAR.. I HAVE A 2102 RT ..IT HAS ABOUT 4000 MILES ON IT NOW.HOW MUCH DIFFERENT WOULD THE RIDE BE.. PLEASE HELP..

the owners manual has you tire pressure they recommend. Also on the swing arm belt side you have the recommended tire pressure labked. The tires, if non oem, have pressure on them. But once you get to the recommended you can adjust to your ryding style and comfort...I won't tell you mine it's mine...:roflblack:

The RT likes a little less tire pressure up front than the RS...especially if it needs alignment. I'd recommend starting at 18, and going up or down from there. 17-18 works best for me. Out back I usually run 28. The tire pressure affects the ride very little (at reasonable pressures), and it doesn't matter what swaybar you are running. The front spring preload and the rear airbag setting affect the ride much more. In general, you can have a soft, easy ride or sharp handling, but not both at the same time. With the performance swaybar you can get better cornering performance without sacrificing much ride quality.

I noticed if I set the front tires to 19 or greater, when I'm turning with any speed, like an aggressive start left turn from a red light, if the roadway is rough, like it sometimes gets from lots of truck traffic, then the front wheels seem to hop. At 17 or less I don't get the hopping.

Over 29.5 in the back, I sometimes get a little rear end slide. At less than 28 no slide--hardly ever.

So I run 17 in the front and 27 in the back.

Prefer slightly higher pressures. I run 22 psi in front and 30 psi in the back; our 20111 RT handles like very well with the front Bajaron bar. I weigh 165 lbs and usually ride solo. Ocassionally the wife tags along and she weighs 133 lbs. I adjust the shocks harder but my tire pressures are the same (cold pressures).

Suggest you start from the max recommended pressures and work down. Adjust accordingly. Good luck.

Im running factory numbers. Never owned a Spyder before so don't know what to expect. Only have 900 miles so playing it by ear.

Dont have any alignment people close, but I guess tires are cheap enough I'll just replace when need be. Hoping to get better shocks in the next few months so that will change everything anyhow.

I use the !8 front, 28 in the rear. It is key to remember that these tire pressures be set cold. If your dealer did anything to tire pressures when the tires were warm, they should not be allowed to touch them again. You will find that this is one of the most common mistakes made by all servicing dealers. (bike, car, etc)
