• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What size is the evap vent hose?

Since I've been checking recalls and things, I thought I'd pull the tupperware and check the evap canister. I still have the short hose, so I plan on lenthening it. I'm gonna run to the auto parts store tomorrow, but what size tubing is it? Thanks!

Just did the missus' 08 RS. If I remember right it's 3/8" ID. Bought the hose a O'Reilly in a precut package. Perfect length to run forward and exit from a hole under radiator.

It's 1/4" off the tank to the canister, 1/4" at the purge valve to the canister and 5/16" from the canister out the bottom of the bike.

When I did mine I pulled the canister and the 5/16" line together and lengthened the 1/4" line off the tank.

Bought some 3/8", and ran it down into one of the holes behind the radiator. Not sure if it does limit the fire hazard, but it cant hurt.

I plead ignorance here.

I have an '08 Spyder GS sold in Canada. I don't remember seeing an evaporative canister when I recently had my panels off.

Where is it please?

So, should it be removed or re-routed? What is the purpose of re-routing the hose. I have never heard about this.
thanks

It is very, very important to have the long hose, but there is more to the modification than the hose. BRP reprograms the ECM to provide more frequent opening of the purge valve. Your dealer will do this for you and install the longer hose - free.

Many have done a canisterectomy which solves the problem with certainty. Search spyderlovers for "canisterectomy".
