What price will we have to pay???

I don`t know what price we will have to pay for this unbelievable weather we are having in the midwest but WoW what a nice weekend. I worked my butt off Sat. to get grass cut and some other spring stuff done and out of the way. I got up this morning and finished the last bit, by 12:00 we were on the Spyder on our way to who knows and who cares. We rode 5-hours through rural Western Kentucky and even got lost for an hour or so (that part is a bonus and on purpose). It was in the upper 80`s, light breaze, and sunny. The only way this could have been better is if we could do it again tomorrow but I have one of those job thingies that gets in the way but glad to have a job to support my Spyder habbit. Any way what a March we are having. This is more like May.

Well, my prediction is for expensive fruit. Fruit trees budding out in March in Michigan can bring no good. There is no way we have seen our last frost. I expect the fruit crop to be devastated.

Sadly, I'm still housebound recovering from my back surgery, but damnit, I at least walked out into the beautiful sunshine with Teddy & we opened the garage door & just stared at his byke, beg'n for us to hop on & go for a spinray: Hey, if you ever have a nice weekend & wanna come to Cincy you know you've got a free place to stay & once we can ryde again, we'll take you on a tour of the city:yes:

I agree. All the trees are flowering. My neighbors fruit trees are fully bloomed out and are doomed to freeze off before spring gets here. There were butterflies, damselflys, mosquitos, etc. out just like late spring. My Spyder was covered with bug splatters. I will take it while it is here but there will be a price to pay for sure. Lets hope Spyderfest is like this weekend.

Amen Brother! I worked a lot this weekend too. Worked on a couple of trailers on Saturday, then a fundraiser that night. Sunday worked in the yard and scrambled to get the Purple Martin houses cleaned out and ready for the Scouts. They are coming early with the warm weather, and those little dudes eat a LOT of mosquitoes. We usually have 40-50 birds on our property. Love em!

Yes, let's hope SpyderFest has a taste of this weather and that everyone is safe and happy at the event! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

As far as I'm concerned, we ALREADY paid the price last year.
Last year was one of the snowiest, coldest winters I can remember.
And last October we had one hell of a snow storm that took out power for almost a week across the state.

So this is the payback we deserve for having gone through the miserable weather previosly.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

We broke heat records here in Maine yesterday. Cooling down today but back up tomorrow.We are already having ice-out on the lakes. What is really scary is that they are un-posting the roads. This will be the earliest I've seen this in my lifetime. :dontknow:

I have a white peach tree that's blooming early, And besides the fact it's too early for the bees to be out to pollinate it i'm sure we'll still have a frost.

Nature has a way of evening things out; ie, You have a drought, and then when it's over too much rain. :yikes:

We've had a strange but wonderful winter here in MI this year. I HATE cold and snow but I could live with these temps every winter!!

A little update from Chugiak, Alaska. Temps are low 30's by day and 5-10 degrees by night. We are getting enough residual heating from the sun that the 4 ft of snow in my yard is melting about 1" a day. Most roads are now melted except for little used side streets. I am still waiting for my access road to melt (2/10ths of a mile to go) and my driveway 40 ft or so--then I can get spyder out.

We are just 3.3 inches short for the snowiest winter on record--and I have a feeling that we are going to break the record before all is over. I have seen 3 ft of snow dumped in late March and 5-10 inches dumped at one time in April or May.

The upside, if we get one of these late season dumps above--it will melt off quick (2-3 days). Two summers ago, we had the wettest, coldest summer on record, last summer was better and we hit 70 degrees about 4 times. Time will tell what happens this summer. I have my fingers crossed and am not taking anything for granted.

About $4.15 a gallon for premium here.....but the weather is great and the :spyder2: is out and about. Im willing to pay the price for this much fun this early in the season :yes::yes::yes:. Enjoyhyea:.

Well since the first "day of spring " is tomorrow . Just breath a sigh of relief ;P . HA but in all reality I am sure we are going to get NAILED with some nasty heat this summer I hope yall like riding in your drawers( under-roos for some who dont know drawers) .
