• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am thinking, do I need to get a power commander or something to put on my spydy (2014 RT Limited) for my upcoming cross county road trip in July.

will be lots of elevation changes from GA where I am from through Colorado & many other state we are going to travel.

any suggestions???????

Unless you are significantly modifying the performance of the bike, you have no need of an aftermarket engine controller.

I also have a 2014 RT Ltd. and took it all over the mountains last year without any problems!! You have a great machine so enjoy the ride.

Depends..!

If your concern is only changes in altitude you don't need one at all. If you have or are planning engine performance changes, only if you need one. I have made mods and have run two different pipes and never needed any controlers. The computer have a fair range of adjustment to compensate for changes in weather and altitudes... worry not and have a blast..!!

Your temp sensor doubles as a air pressure reader (altitude air is thinner) and it will compensate for altitude changes. No need for after market mappers unless you do cat delete and muffler swap.

Colorado Hills

Colorado Hills! Several years ago my wife and I visited Grand Junction, Co. and rented a new Harley to do some riding with our son who lived there. His Harley had a carburetor, but the Harley we rented was fuel injected. We took a ride one day up on the Grand Mesa at about 11,000 ft. About half way up his Harley started to lose power and by the time we were at the top was blowing black smoke and running really bad. But the fuel injected bike ran like a charm the whole trip. I believe the Spyder fuel system is even better then the Harley one, so I doubt you will have any problems at all.

Yep fuel injection will take care of your altitude changes so you are good to go. I wont buy anything with a carb anymore. enjoy!
