• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What kind of GPS do you have????

Garmin 775T that I got on Ebay for $90.

It has traffic which I like.

It is also one of the few car GPS' that will work Bluetooth to your helmet like the Zumo. Many will not.

I have 3 ways I can connect it to the Spyder.
1) It will broadcast on FM so if I set to a dead channel on the Spyder radio, I can set the GPS to broadcast on that channel.
2) Bluetooth to the helmet.
3) Made a audio cord and ran it to the built in GPS connector to the radio.

Video on how to do it.

iPhone with TomTom app

In the end, I decided to use my iPhone. I have bluetooth speakers in my helmet, so my music and directions come from the same device (that I already own and would have with me, anyway).

Waze is the best traffic app that I've found, with the only drawback being the need for an internet connection.

Google maps will let you download maps for 30 days if you don't have internet (the GPS always works), but it looks tedious.

I use my iPhone 6 with the TomTom app that cost me $29. Nice thing with Tom Tom app and iPhone is the pat you use none of your data plan. The app downloads all of the maps when you purchase the app and the iOS devices mostly come with a GPS sensor that does not rely on cellular. Add bluetooth to my helmet and I'm very satisfied. Total cost, without phone, was about $50
