• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HI all Was thinking of a GPS for my RT not sure which way should I go??? Could you show me some pics on which makes you have on yours and were did you mount them? Thanks!!

I use the same one that I use in my vehicle. It's a Garmin Nuvi 1450. I use a Ram Mount cradle for it that is screwed right to the dash, just above the gauge cluster.

Sorry picture is sideways....but you get the idea. My budget rain protection is a sandwich bag. Works perfectly.

I used my phone, Samsung Note3, for the first time going to the Smokies last week and it worked. I plugged it in to the auxiliary outlet so it stays charged. You can save your route off-line in case you lose service, it gives you traffic, weather and you can even call people with it. I don't know that I will ever go back to a purpose built GPS again.

I use my portable car one. Velcro it under the dash over the heat gauge workes great there dash keeps it shaded.

My RT Limited came with a Garmin Zumo 660 from Can Am.It is mounted between the handle bars. For years I have used a Garmin Nuvi 500 that I have ram mounts for and transfer from vehicle to vehicle.

In the end, I decided to use my iPhone. I have bluetooth speakers in my helmet, so my music and directions come from the same device (that I already own and would have with me, anyway).

Waze is the best traffic app that I've found, with the only drawback being the need for an internet connection.

Google maps will let you download maps for 30 days if you don't have internet (the GPS always works), but it looks tedious.

I have the Zumo 660 attached on my 2013 RT between the handle bars with the Can-Am mount. Bluetooth connected to my Sena 20S for verbal directions. Works great for me.

Sygic needs an internet connection only to download updates and maps. Maps come individually by states. On the road all it needs is a GPS signal.

copilot on an android phone. I leave it in the trunk connected to the power port. Bluetooth connection to a sena 10s headset. It doesn't need internet or phone service. It's pretty good - but could be a bit better.

And I may try sygic next.

Motion X GPS Drive

It's FREE it's a free APP on your smart phone
it works exactly like the Garman, same maps
same voice it's great it self updates also.
After 30 days the voice goes away but everything
else stays if you want to up grade it's $9.95 per year.
I am using my iPhone 6 Plus with one of my water proof
phone mounts and case to see it.
you can't find a better cheeeeeper way to
have a GPS

I use a Big Ole Garmin....

I put a Ram mount ball where a handlebar bolt was. Then mounted my Garmin on a double socket arm.

I can remove the GPS and use it in the car.
Had I realized I'd be getting a drink holder from Lamont, I could have just mounted it there.
