What is your preferred Travel Cover?

I bought the Can Am full travel cover, about $300 for my '23 S2S. However, on my Aluma tailer 2,200 mile trip last winter, it shredded due to wind. I bought the Aluma aluminum 2' high wind screen and will install it before my next winter trip 2,400 miles. But I thought I'd ask this august group of brainiacs what their preferred travel cover is. Amazon has weatherproof covers all day for way under $100.

I would be surprised if any cover will survive the wind being towed like that.
And I could be wrong!

Well, the cover actually survived the trip down, 2,200 miles, but the straps underneath broke on the way home. I'm thinking since the underneath straps broke that were less than 4" off the deck, the 2' high aluminum windbreak will keep nearly all the wind off the straps. The Can AM cover is thick, but I'm looking for alternatives.

I have an Aluma UT-10 with the front shield and toolbox. I also bought the BRP travel cover the first time I hauled the Spyder RT. One side over the grips wore thru on that trip. I repaired it but have never covered the Spyder since. The shield pretty much prevents stone/rock damage. The water and road grime ain't bad. I just bring some F-11 and wipes. I cover with either a full or half cover while parked overnight rather on or off the trailer.

And I would add I have been hauling it for 6plus years uncovered.

Those Can Am covers are pricey but well made. I am pretty sure none of the $100 Amazon covers will survive towing. I bought an UltraGard half cover from Amazon and won an UltraGard full cover in a contest. I can almost guarantee you neither of these would survive towing at highway speeds.

Many owners here no longer cover their Spyders while towing; some due to cover damage; most due to paint damage or potential paint damage on their Spyders. :gaah:

Doing a bit of searching and reading will reveal a whole lot about that!

Peter beat me to it ..... I guarantee it will damage the paint .... I know you see NEW cars being delivered on TT auto haulers that are SHRINK WRAPPED, but that's completely different from any Spyder TRAVEL cover .... Mike :thumbup:

Thanks all. Looks like I'll be trailering without a cover, only putting it on at over night stops (4) and when parked at Gulf Shores for 4 months. Life is tough...
