• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I received my magnetic oil drain plugs from Dimple Plugs, and the package included a gift of this handy little metric ruler. However, I've never seen anything like this "sawtooth" part on the top. Does anyone know what this is used for? :dontknow:

Thanks,

Pam

Interesting. Possibly to measure thread in metric although it looks like pretty course thread. Holes in the center are to measure diameter of bolt or plugs.

Agree...

:agree: you can put any bolt or screw up aginst the teeth and if they match then you know what to look for at you local store. Handy little tool. I have several and when I got this one I just hung it on the wall and use it the most. But then you will find in the bike industry the most common ar the 1.0, 1.25, 1.50...

Yeah, I knew what the holes are for, I was just perplexed about the upper edge. Thread pitch measure it is.

Thanks!

That really is a cool tool.

Pam, have a memorable Memorial Day. Our Vets, POWs, and MIAs, are never forgotten.

Yup, it is a thread pitch guage to tell you what type of bolt/fastener you need. The holes will tell you the size of the fastener. Very handy at times unless you get into EUROPEN METRIC, then all is gone and lost. Different system altogether.

Thank you

Thank you everyone who answered my question. That's a handy little item indeed.
