• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What is the oil change interval for 2011 RT-S?

Originally it was 3,000 miles...
Then; they changed some stuff around, and bumped it up to (I think!) 4,400 miles...
Or was it 4,600? :dontknow:

Come on Bob D.... almost 61K posts and you cannot reference the guy to something here?
Or know?

Sorry to pick on you but..... I would really expect you to know and even reference Lamonster's post about the updated schedule!

Shame on you! :gaah:

Here.... I will do it but you would think the #1 poster here would know this stuff? I mean Bob... Dude.... WTH?
Or is it more about post count than content and helping? Hmmmm..... Come on Bob D.. You know how to find this info!

This post talks about it:

http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...le-and-Oil-Changes&highlight=service+schedule

This is the TSB that explains the new service schedule for the 998:

Bob D... For shame buddy! You should know this inside and out! (I guess I expected more from the post king)... :roflblack:

I mean why else have 61,000 posts if you don't remember stuff like this ;)
AND the fact you have commented on pretty much every topic here!

Sorry to pick on you but seriously.... As the "king" of posts you should be a little more helpful than your above comment making a swag at it..... Otherwise if you don't know or can't... why post a "guess"? It serves no purpose...

Sorry for being honest..... But it upsets me when people post info that is non-informative knowing the info is all here on Spyder Lovers and has been hashed many times before,,,,, but cannot even help them by finding the posts for them! :yikes:

:popcorn::banghead:

I almost cannot take this place anymore.... Bothers me a lot with what goes on here and bad or half assed information some people give to people that need help...... :( :( :(

There is a reason very knowledgeable people have left and are no longer posting here... I am about to join them. :bdh:

Sorry... I guess I need a snickers bar....

 I guess that you do!
Since I no longer own a 998 bike; some of the finer points of their maintenance schedules has escaped me.
It would have been VERY easy, to simply edit my post, and change the 4,400, to 4,600 miles. I chose not to do that in order to show that keeping all of this information intact is not always easy, and it's good to rely on one another in here for backup.
Why didn't you just answer his question, instead of going off on such an unusual tirade?
At least I tried to...

This may get some upset; but, just because you may be knowledgeable (or think you are) doesn't put you into a different class which makes you any better than anyone else. I say this only because there was someone on here who felt that you had to kneel before them and kiss their ring, because they were (actually) very, very knowledgeable. Since I didn't do that, I maintained myself on their ignore list.

As far as I'm concerned, everyone is equal here; no one is special, IMHO.

Finless Bob, you are one of about 2 dozen people on here that I have identified as really knowing what they are talking about and that I can rely on for good information. I'll fed ex you a case of Snickers, just please don't leave.
