• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

In ratings of dealers by BRP. In my area, there is one dealer that is listed as a "preferred dealer" and is Silver certified. Then there are a couple that are Gold certified, then a couple more that are Platinum certified. I am wondering, do these different levels of certification have to do with the wrench turners that actually work on our Spyders being trained by BRP, and/or what level of training that they have from BRP? Or does it have to do with how many BRP products a given dealer sells on an annual basis? The dealer closet to me was Platinum certified for quite a long time, but is now Silver certified. The Platinum certified dealer closet to me is a little more than twice the distance away. Anyone have any ideas how these ratings are determined?

You forgot the other ratings...

Of course: you have Platinum , Gold, and Silver...
There are another set of ratings, that proceed downward from Silver.
They are:
Copper
Pewter
Mud
and my favorite...
:cus::gaah::gaah::cus:

But BRP does not like to brag about these...

Good question....kinda curious to know this myself. Are the ratings based on customer surveys, total sales, service satisfaction surveys...etc.... If it's based on sales, then I think it's a bit foolish. I know people that could sell ice trays to an eskimo, but don't know which way to turn a wrench, But if it's based on overall customer satisfaction before, during, and after the sale, including service, then it would seem to "matter" a bit more to me.

There has been lots of discussion on this subject from time to time. It has to do with sales and inventory carried in stock--mostly.

My dealer used to be a Platinum dealer (2012). They still proudly display the sign on their front door. Now they are only a servicing dealer and don't even have a spyder mechanic. The times they are a changing.

Mechanics, which cost the dealer big bucks to be factory trained, come and go so quickly that most dealers now don't worry about that small technicality.

I think BRP closes their eyes to the situation, and they don't worry about the fine points anymore. Dealer ratings are only as good as the dealer really is. Hence, we have come up with "lead, tin, and pewter" classifications on our own. :roflblack::roflblack: It's funny one way, but then again, its not.

AK . . . MAN

is largely correct. There are some other "things" but it is mostly meeting BRP's quotas they set for the dealer to spend with BRP.

Platinum, Gold & Silver

From the BRP web site:

Our Dealer Certification Program recognizes dealerships that meet or exceed our high standards for operational excellence, product knowledge, and commitment to customer service.

Talk about weasel words. A lot of text that really says nothing.

Exactly what I said earlier.:yes:

I just left out the weasel words and did some interpretation for you folks.:bowdown:
