• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What footwear do you use?

Usually, summertime, just tennis shoes. I have boots but they are hot and... because of the Spyder stance, there is no need to be putting feet down or for that matter no additional ankle support required.

Either Redwing Irish Setter work boots or Bates custom riding boots. Nothing much else fits my skinny feet. Nancy wears Tourmaster WP waterproof riding boots.

"Leftover" boots from work... Usually Bates or Converse tactical boots. Recently I've been wearing Timberland PRO's that are composite toe and comfy!!:2thumbs:

Sidi Combat Touring boots from Rider Warehouse on long rides. Anything with closed toes locally.

AXO Strikers!

I wear AXO strikers... which is funny as I never have to put my feet down...

These use the BOA System... no laces to tie, no velcro... Just stainless steel cables you wind tight and pop to release...

I was skeptical when I bought them in regard to how the "lace" system would hold up... 12,000 miles later, a bunch of rain, and they are still quite nice.

They aren't technically weather proof, but I spray treat them before each major trip and my feet stay dry....

The big thing is... they are very comfy to walk in as well...

TCX 5 boots: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/tcx-x-five-plus-boots

Best boots I've ever owned. Easy to break in, superb ankle and even some shin protection, extremely comfortable. Perhaps overkill for a trike, but keeps the Spyder's heat off my feet, my feet are cool even in the summer.

Oh, and while I'm at it I must brag about these socks: http://www.revzilla.com/product/revit-socks-tour-summer. Best riding socks I've worn (I got big legs, so I prefer the fit of over-the-calf socks). Stay cool, comfy and dry in the heat.

Roadman boots that are at least 30 years old, bought from a company that is no longer in business. They have zippers in the back so are very easy to get on and off. My feet have never gotten wet in them and I've ridden through low water crossings where water was up on the boots but I've never waded water in them. In the winter I sometimes wear insulated hiking boots that I have waded water in without getting wet.

Same full-on sports boots as on my sports bike.. under my jeans.
Ur out in the open and just as vulnerable to lame brain cagers t-boning you at the next intersection.:sour:
First part to get hit and longest to heal (if it does what with all those small bones).
Same with the jacket, never wear one without full sleeves and armor.
..And a full face helmet.
..And leather gloves usually with armor.
Only time any of that gets uncomfortable is mid summer if the temp goes over 30c...so I maybe don't ride and take the aircon'd car instead.
For me it's all about getting out and enjoying the day anyway I can.:ohyea:

Only people around here who don't wear protection are the hardley drivers, guess they just can't go fast enough to need it.:joke:
cheers all
