Thanks all for the rapid responses
I got a host of ideas and opinions on how to handle my helmet dilemma. I welcome further input if others have additional suggestions.
Gotta say that I love the way a Spyder owner can post with an issue, and the troops rally around with usually not 1, but several solutions:clap::clap::clap:
Does that mean that you're gonna get one of these? View attachment 73166 :roflblack:

Excellent advice! I leave mine in the trunk. On Nancy's GS, if the trunk is full, we use a small retractable cable lock to fasten it to the passenger grab rail, or we use a Pacsafe Lidsafe armored bag to lock it to the grab rail. I do the same thing on my BMW most of the time.

I think playing the odds on: 1) someone having a handcuff key and 2) seeing your spyder parked and 3) wanting to steal your helmet. ARE REALLY LOW (like Damn near non-existent). People are only going to steal a helmet if it's sitting on the bike unattached. Nobody is going to cut the strap. So based on your thought process someone could be carrying a set of huge bolt cutters and they could just hack your cable OR someone could just cut your chin strap even though it's not securing the helmet (just to be a smart aleck) they could just dig out their tools and unbolt your handlebars OR they could be driving around the area with a rollback tow truck and see your sweet helmet and steal the whole spyder....... :banghead:First of all you know that Handcuff keys are universal, right?. Second of all if you hang it by the strap some smart aleck is going to cut the strap for you. then what good is it. I would get a Cable that goes through the chin bar and through the hand grips if I really wnated to be safe and it wouldn't go in the frunk and I didnt' want to or couldn't carry it.
Kewlmetal has helmet locks that fit on the end of your handle bars. I installed these on my 2011 RT-S. You might check them out, I love mine.I'd like to start off by saying i'm not an elitist or snob by any means. I financed the price of a helmet at the time I bought my 2013 ST Ltd. so I (over)paid $660 at the dealership for my Shoei GT Air Wanderer, and for this reason I am reluctant to leave it on my bike when stopped...even at the local Cyclegear where there are several helmets left on their bikes while the owners shop inside. If the helmet were ever taken, i'd have to replace it with a BILT $99 special, since I don't see me forking out another $600 plus for a replacement lid. Seems like the helmet locks/cables would only show down a thief wanting the helmet...not prevent them.
Now to the question...What do you Spyder owners do with your helmets when you park your Spyder?
I know the obvious answer of "Put it in the Frunk", but I usually have my backpack in there when on the road. Both items will not fit.
Interestingly enough...my 2013 Owners Manual states there is enough room in the Frunk for 2 helmets. I can barely fit my 1 helmet in the Frunk much less a 2nd one. I cannot possibly figure out how BRP expects 2 helmets to fit in the Frunk :hun:
From Page 86 of the 2013 ST Owner's Manual:
Front Storage Compartment - The front storage compartment has room to store light objects, such as two helmets.
