• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What Do You Do When You Aren't Riding?

NancysToy

Motorbike Professor
This has been covered in some fashion a couple of times, but it seemed to be a good time to resurrect it. I have not been able to ride for a month, after injuring my thumb, and I have a few more months to go, so I needed to get my fix somehow. Since I got my Spyders, I have sadly neglected my other toys, especially since Nancy retired. I have a mild custom '53 Ford F-100 hotrod that was gathering even more dust than my BMW motorcycle. When I dug it out of the barn, after sitting two years, it had mold growing on the steering wheel! :opps: We cleaned things up and did three car shows and a cruise in eight days.

It felt good to get the old girl out again. I hope I can still drive it after they repair and pin my thumb in my surgery on Thursday and put on a cast in place of this brace/splint. I don't want it to be so neglected again! As you can see by the bike in the back, I have forgiven my Simplex bobber. It was what I was riding when I hurt my thumb. Looks good in the back of the Effie!

What do you guys do for kicks when you aren't riding?

When not riding....

When not riding I:
eat,
sleep,
and polish the Spyder so it will continue to be shiney!

Dan

Nice looking truck Scotty. Sorry to hear about your injury and I hope your surgery goes well. I am going slightly crazy being Spyderless and can't imagine being without much longer. We need to develop a 12 step program for Spyder withdrawal or maybe it would just need to be 3 steps.

If you hadn't run away from home and moved to Nevada, you could ride mine while I was laid up. Earliest I have ever had to winterize a vehicle.

Nice F1! I am jealous of the Tudor...I really love Model A's.

That's a really nice-looking truck!

:clap::2thumbs::firstplace:

Scotty, I would gladly come up and take care of your toys while you're recuperating.

I don't have any toys other than our Spyders. When I'm not ryding I'm working around the house, working on other peoples stuff, reading SL, being grumpy...

Music Music Music

My sweetie and I attend Concerts and music Festivals. Mostly Americana style, Bluegrass and folk, and Rock N Roll. This coming Labor Day Weekend we will be camping for 5 days at the Strawberry Music Festival just outside of Yosemite National Park. She won't let me bring the Spyder as we need to haul all of our camping gear and we don't as yet have a trailer. Next year!

Spare Time Activities

Geez, where does one start? I guess I'll start with amateur radio. I start every day with any where from a 30 minute to 1 hour morning session on the radio. I have a group of friend scattered between FL and TN that converse daily.

I spend time reading fiction, magazines, how to do things, and here on SL reading the new postings. I spend time working on my websites, learning how to do new things or improve on what is there already. I may spend a couple hours a emailing family and friends updates in our activities.

Spend at least an hour a day watching TV or listening to music.

In my wasting time not accounted for department is spent doing home maintenance things.

UTV, train & compete my 2 dogs, jog a little, lift a little, & chase Nan around a lot. In the summer. Sled. snowshoe, x-country ski, train my 2 dogs, snow removal around the house. & chase Nan around a lot. In the winter.

I wonder if we posed this question to Nan what would her response be. :roflblack:
