• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What do you call our Can Am’s

I’ve had my rt for a year now love it I’ve liked the Can Am’s all along, so I’ve been riding 2 wheels for 40+ years now I only have the rt. So should I call it my bike, trike, or spyder?

JMO, but it's not a bike, and a trike just brings to mind the normal single wheel forward trikes, so I just call it a Spyder. I call my
bike a Honda or the Interceptor, and the one before that a Yamaha or FJ, so yep, it's a Spyder. I don't go in for naming my vehicles
either.

BRP calls it a Roadster! I call it a bike, or trike, or motorcycle, depending on what word comes out my mouth or fingers! Most states by law call it a motorcycle since it has handlebars, less than four wheels, and you straddle it. If it has a steering wheel and you seat in a car-like seat, like a SlingShot, it's an autocycle.

When folks ask, "what is it", and they do, I tell them it's a Canam Spyder, if they want more details, then there's more to the story, and there usually is.

I call it my 'Weeble'. I don't name machines but since these wobble but don't fall down, Weeble seemed to fit.

" the Spyder"

It's " the Spyder". But the Yamaha V-Max is " The V-Max"......... "V-Boost is a wonderful thing----------nojoke

When asked by others the "what is it" question, I say it's a Spyder.

I have always referred to my two wheelers as bikes. That has carried over to the Spyders as well.

I have three bikes now. Two Spyders and one Vulcan. I was "politically correct for about 6 months back in 2008 when I got my first Spyder Roadster. :riding:

It is a scooter. They all scooters. If it has a seat you sit straddle of like a horse and a set of handlebars, it is a scooter. All my Hondas, Yamahas, Harleys, every one was a scooter. The Can Am is a scooter too.

I was putting some groceries in the bag on the back yesterday and some guy in a car in the next parking spot asked me if it was street legal. Told him, yeah, got a tag, insurance and all. He asked, but can you ride it on the Interstate highways. Told him yeah, no reason why not. Then he asked what size engine it had. He didn't ask anything else when I told him a 1330 cc.
