There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. What do the actual RS handlebars look like under the covers?

Hi all,
I haven't had the guts to pull my RS-S handlebar cover apart yet to see what's underneath but does anyone have a picture of what the handlebars look like? As I understand, the Klingon starship-looking thing is just a cover, right? Does it have regular motorcycle handlebars underneath? If anyone can post a pic, that would be great. Whoever installed the cover on mine did it crookedly so I will take it apart one of these days and redo it; but if there is a way to swap these handlebars with regular motorcycle ones, I might go that route to give me more options...
Thanks!

They are regular 7/8" bars. Just a lower plastic cover and upper Klingon metal cover. Nothing special. The bolts that hold the cover halves together are a major pain to get to and require some pretty specific tools, or creativity with some small little tikes tools from any normal tool box. You could swap the bars but if you do, your not likely going to be able to reuse the covers. The shape of the bars is pretty specific to the covers. Also, its pretty ugly under there too. Good luck!

RSBars

RS Bars without the covers look like a monkey wards tricycle handlebars! Horrible! You can swap with a nicer pair. The cover won't fit, but can be modded, or, replaced.

TO SEE THEM WITHOUT THE WORK

You can look at them if you go to ...PROCALIBER.COM and go to the parts FICHE' for you year and model....it will show you a picture ......Mike :bbq:

Thanks for the replies, you guys. I don't have a particular issue with the stock handlebars other than whoever replaced the ignition (before my ownership) had done a terrible job reinstalling the covers, they are all cattywampus and I'd like to at least fix that. But I thought maybe I can eliminate the covers altogether and potentially replace the bars with another style. I guess I'll have to see just how ugly things are under there...

Sorry spotted this in the manual the other day when I was looking something up and meant to post it for you as at least it shows the bracket holding the bars (obviously without the ignition barrel which I think has to be removed to remove the handlebar cover).

Looks like it would be pretty easy to change the bars without the cover on and this doesn't look too bad like this - probably the ignition part makes it look messy though as that has cables for the frunk etc.

Hey there, I've got my parts in and am just getting ready to swap my 2013 RS handlebar for the ST. Would you share what was especially challenging about getting the new ST covers back on, and how you managed to get it done? Any learning that I can borrow from you is greatly appreciated.
thanks,

Yes, thanks, I've read these instructions and it seems manageable.

Can anyone confirm that one of the covers for the ST is split, and may look broken as delivered from the factory?

Much appreciated.
