• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

what do I do with my stock seat

Jimmy Neutron

Just had the comfort seat installed. I now have a seat that has like 600 miles on it taking up space,, I know we have a for sale forum but is there any call for these stock seats?

I need a stock seat so I can get one that Ultimate puts out...I sent my stock seat to Ultimate when they were developing thier seats and need seat pans...so....how much would you want for your stock seat?:doorag:

If they used your seat , I would think they would give you theirs for free or at a huge discount .

Also , a RS owner might want to upgrade to a RSS seat .

I would keep it, you may at some point sell your current machine with the stock seat and put the comfort seat on the new ride.

btw, is this the BRP comfort seat, how much better is it

thanks
harry

Harry , I just got it installed so will put it to the test this weekend,, And I know if I keep the old seat it will get torn or thrown away.. To many takeoffs and not a big enough storage room make for mast confusion

I had the upgraded RSS seat and bought the comfort seat without ever seeing one . I think the only difference is the stitching pattern . My butt still hurts in the same area after about an hour or so .
I am gonna get the ultimate seat , I got to sit on one of those and it is way nicer . Trade in your old seat and they subtract $250 .

you have to give the seat atleast 1000 miles to break in

Sold mine for $110 - $10 for the seat, and $100 to ship it (actual cost!!!)

If I would have read this yesterday, I would have had a hard time believing a 20 pound seat costs $100 to ship.

I'm a believer now. I shipped out my RT seat last night to Kontour Seat, so they can build me a new one. UPS wanted $166 to ship it. I about lost it. They told me it was because of the size. I managed to get it in a smaller box, but it still cost about $100.

With prices like that, how can the post office be broke? Oh yeah, they are a government run outfit. :yikes:

My post office must have been in a very good mood the day I shipped out my seat that I sold to a fellow member here. Shipping for it came to around $28 :dontknow:

I just bought a stock seat from Spydee66 and he sold it to me for $50 including delivery. I am sure he did not make much on that transaction.

I bought it to do the same thing that Spydee66 did-have a new seat made. When I get done I will sell it someone else on here for $50.

It seems that places like Russell Day long don't have a Spyder loaner seat and don't like removing the Spyder seat because...???. So in order to not have then tie up you ride it is better to have a spare seat for the interim. Meanwhile I am fooling with a heater and moving the seating position further forward. If I am not succesful i will take it to a local shop and have them do it. If that doesn't work I will drive it to Russel Day Long.

Bottomline: someone probably can use your seat. $100 to ship it is over the top. When you change your ride it will be worth something if you can keep it in good shape.

Knock..Knock to all you folks that are parting with your stock seat...I've been asking how much you want...I'm looking for one so I can get a Ultimate or Contour seat done...I'm getting rid of the Corbin I've got now that the wife has her own Spyder...Send me a PM if you want to part with your stock RS seat...Thanks...Larry
