• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. What can I do with my iPhone connected to the Spyder through the BRP Go app?

I recently purchased a 2023 RTL. I have connected my cell phone to the bike via the BRP Go app. I am not sure what I can do with the phone connection to the Spyder. Which apps in the phone are compatible? And how do I get them to work?

From the BRP GO Website:

The following apps are compatible with the BRP GO! app and can be used on the 7.8" display of select 2018 to 2023 Can-Am Spyder models.

- REVER
- Genius Maps
- Sygic GPS Navigation
- EatSleepRIDE (only available on iOS)
- Litt Radio
- Cardo Connect
- FOBO Bike 2

Please note that the list of compatible apps may differ in your country, depending on the availability of these apps in your region.

There's also a "Watch How" video on the page that shows how to connect your phone and use it.

racoon, thank you very much for that informative reply to my questions. After watching the video and reading your post, I think I'm all set and will download a few apps and give it a try.

I still find BRP Go to be counterintuitive and glitchy on my 2022 RT S2S. I have my Cardo unit connected to my Garmin Zumo XT2 and my iPhone 14 Pro max. I have the Garmin Tread app load on my phone. I do like the FOBO 2 display, but I just check the app when stopped. If tire pressures get wonky, the app will chirp. Hey Cardo/Hey siri work great for all phone commands...

When I bought my RT, I was told that I could use my phone apps via the BRP connection, which was not actually true. I found the best solution to be using the USB connection strictly for keeping my iPhone powered. I bought a simple data blocker (from Amazon, a 2 pack for $10) so that when hooked up to the Spyder, the BRP system is blocked. I use the iPhone maps or Waze on a center mounted phone holder which I find much more readable that having the information in tiny font on the Spyder's screen. I assume that the newer Spyders with Apple CarPlay don't have this problem, but I have a 2021 RT, so my solution seems okay for me.

vito1943, thanks for the information. I haven't plugged my phone into the bike's system in a while, because I couldn't find any real use for it. I have a mount for the phone and will do what you are doing. I don't intend to ride any long distances, so I probably won't even bother plugging the phone into the power port.

I have been able to get Apple CarPlay working successfully on my 2024 Spyder RT, after some teeth gnashing, banging my head against the wall, and uttering a lot of four letter words in the general direction of Can Am headquarters.

The 2024 Spyder RT has a 10.25" display, a nice size increase from the earlier 7.8" screen.

A couple of requirements need to be mentioned.
I have a WiFi network in my home that is capable of reaching the garage where I park my Spyder. I mention that, as you need to have installed the BRP Connect 4.1 update, which included some bug fixes for Apple CarPlay. It was released in July 2025:

It's Apple CarPlay, so you need an Apple iPhone plugged into the USB port in the "glove box" in front of the handlebars. I've seen some posts about a device you can buy that allows an Android phone to communicate to other devices using the Apple CarPlay protocols, but I have no experience with them. (Yes, I freely admit to being an Apple Fan Boy).

Second, you need a helmet headset bluetooth connected to the Spyder.
And it's picky about the start-up sequence.
First you start the Spyder, then you connect your iPhone, and then turn on your headset.

Since the 4.1 update, it's worked every time. Prior to that update, it was a bit flaky. Sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't. I even had it refuse to work, and then as I was riding along the freeway at 65 MPH it would suddenly start working, then I could ride for a while and it'd suddenly stop working again. But since the 4.1 update, it's worked consistently.

And the Can Am problems with Apple CarPlay are entirely Can Am's fault.

I also drive a 2023 Honda Ridgeline that I bought before I bought my Spyder, and Apple CarPlay has worked perfectly on it from the day I bought it.

My Spyder is also very picky about the cable I use to connect my iPhone to the Spyder. It only likes genuine Apple cables, and doesn't like any non-Apple cables. My Honda works with every cable I've tried it with. I'm currently using some no-name 6" long cable in my Honda and it works perfectly. It also keeps my iPhone in the little storage area at the base of the dashboard where the USB port is located, without my having to deal with a long cable.

I have a 2020 and find just using my phone mounted in easy view and not struggling with the inconsistent connection, limited apps, and bad design of the interface is stable, and offers far more flexibility.

Yup .. This works perfect for me. Using the data blocker allows me to either bluetooth music to my external speakers without BRP GO, or just bluetooth tunes thru my helmet cardo..
