What are your thoughts on BajaRon's swaybar mod?

:agree: I jumped to be a tester so that could experience differences between the OEM and Ron's modification. But before I got BajaRon's SwayBar (and after I got the ball joints replaced) I was content with my OEM swaybar. But if you are a hard rYder and like to do twisties in a fast pace, the Anti-Sway bar modification is the way to go!

Then the above is endorsement enough to persuade me that purchasing the sway bar would be a good improvement.

We were staying in the same place next to each other and never got to hang out... We should have gone riding and then switched :spyder2: to feel the difference.:(

I have been told I'm hard to find... I don't mean to be.

Like SpyderAnn01 said. Just go to the Home Page here at Spyderlovers and click on my Banner Ad. I have my contact information at the top of the link. Getting a bar shipped is very easy.

Right now I have bars for the;

2008-2012 RS/GS/RSS - $179 shipped
2010-2012 RT/RTS/RT Ltd. - $199 shipped
2013 RT/RTS/RT Ltd. - $219 shipped

I am currently working on a custom bar for the 2013 RS/RSS/ST/STS/ST Ltd. models.

Got my bar today:yes:will be installing friday. Only thing that freaks me out is lifting my RT 2 feet:yikes:. Oh well no Guts no Glory:pray: I have a 3 ton floor jack and a set of jack stands.

You will need more ground clearance. I suggest having a couple of bricks to stand ontop of each jack stand since removing/installing the bar will require PLEANTY of ground clearance. I believe that SpyderAnn01 has pics of it. Harvey puts the wheels of the :spyder2: on 2 ATV jacks.

Here is some pictures of the install on a 2013 rt. Im going to actually shoot more pictures tonight. I didnt see the white spots under my bike. The camera picked them up.

Ron's Sway Bar

I bought my 2011 RS~S in December 2012 from a nice guy near Park City Utah... Before I bought the Roadster, I ordered in my Ron Bar and had it waiting for me when I arrived at my next stop in Fort Worth Texas where I installed it. From there I road to Salem Oregon then to Washington state for the :spyder2: next check up.

I was not completely sold on it because I was expecting
ASTOUNDING Changes like a Road Race Car would have.

None the less the money
invested for the Anti Sway Bar is by far well worth every Lincoln you have to shell out. If I buy another Roadster and it does not have a Ron Bar on it, that will be my first Mod again.

rabtech, you just have the front end in the air the rear tire is not jacked?
btw nice pics!

Yes that is correct, You can install it at that height. You can do it without removing the frunk. You can just remove the 2 middle splash pans to get access to the bolts that hold the bar. And take the two torx bolts that are blocking the bar from sliding out. The way the bar is ran in the in the square channel you have to turn it to get it to come out. The new bar is larger and you will have to have a little more height to tilt it in.

It makes a super difference.

The RS series has a somewhat better suspension and sway bar than does the RT (probably because it is supposed to be the 'Sport' model). Since the RS series doesn't need quite as much help as the RT series, the improvement to the RS series, thought quite noticeable, is not quite as dramatic as in the RT series.

The RS also has a much lower center of gravity, resulting in less tendency to body roll. In actuality, at least for pre-2013 versions, the RS shocks have less damping than the RT shocks. That's one reason why they respond well to the installation of the RT shocks...even the weaker 2010 version.

True...

Ron,
This might be a pretty stooopid question ::opps:
Could you grab the bike by the A-arms and lift it with a hoist?
Or would compressing the suspension with the lift, make unbolting things impossible? :dontknow:

You have to remember that the sway bar is completely neutral as long as each front wheel is carrying the same amount of weight. So lifting both wheels at the same time, regardless of how this is accomplished, will not put any stress on the Sway Bar.

While you do need to lift the front of the 2013's higher to get the sway bar install done, it doesn't have to fly! About 18" or so of total lift is what you need, especially if you lift only the front and leave the rear wheel on the ground. That gives you a bit of angle which reduces the amount of total lift needed.

The problem is that car ramps and most ATV jacks will not get you 18". What some have done is use jack stands to support the Spyder at the top of the ATV lift capability, then lower the ATV jack, put additional block on the jack and lift again.

:yikes::yikes::yikes:

Don't even think of lifting the Spyder by the a-arms. They are fragile. If they warn you against tying the Spyder down there, what do you think they would say about lifting it?

Absolutely, that part blew right by me. I was thinking of strap type tire harnesses when I wrote my reply. You don't want to lift at any point other than the tires or jack to the solid frame members.

Thanks for catching that for me Scotty.

Received mine in the mail today n hope to put in in this weekend :) THX FOR THE FAST SERVICE RON :)

From reading all the great reviews about the swaybar seems like I need one too. From going from a two wheeler bike, to the Spyder, I'm really hard on my corners and this RT as it is just doesn't cut it. Just ordered mine.

Sway Bar

Just got rons bar for my 2013 RT, did not like the way it handles in corners, was wondering if there are any other RTs in the forum with this mod and what are your thoughts on it, also any installation pointers would be great thanks;)

I have tested my new Bajaron sway bar. I did a ride yesterday, interstates, rough roads, a few curves and I am very pleased with the way it improved my RT13. well worth the money. except the shops screw up. they did not secure the plastic skid plate, it fell down and wore the edge off of it before someone stopped me, guess I will be visiting them Tuesday and raising a little sand. they want do nothing though, they are going out of business. I wonder why. Old Man
